Reviews Summary
Soby's is celebrated for its elevated Southern cuisine, served in a charming, historic setting. Diners rave about signature dishes like fried green tomatoes and shrimp and grits, as well as its decadent desserts and excellent service. While generally a highly positive experience, some find the prices on the higher side for the portion sizes.
"One of my new favorite places for sure! We had a table upstairs which was great for us, a little bit quieter. The waiter suggested a crab cake appetizer and She-Crab soup. So that's what we did. I had the Halibut entree and my husband had the Shrimp and Grits. Everything was on point! The sommelier, Robert, helped us find a bottle of wine to compliment the meal, and the price of the wine was less than we had anticipated. To finish the evening we shared a piece of Banana Cream Pie - it was worth the extra calories. If you're looking for a comfortable setting to have some amazing food then this is it!"

"High class food, but high prices.
Soby's is the kind of place that you want to go if you wish to make a good impression or show off to others. You will find dishes here that are far nicer than other places around.
At the same time, I really just don't enjoy it.
I cannot fault either their quality or their staff, and the location and look is just amazing. But for the price and quantity that you get, it's just not ever going to be high up my list.
I tried their quail, hoping to have a new experience and enjoy a different flavor. I understand it is a small bird, but really all I got was a sliver of taste for the quail itself and then an overwhelming portion of stuffing and the flavor of that.
Portions, like you would expect from high class, are small but price is double or triple what you could pay for a larger meal elsewhere.
It's an experience, and a mostly positive one, but not really a meal that I would choose."

"Went to Soby’s for a graduation dinner and had the best experience! Our server, Stefan, was amazing—great recommendations (fried green tomatoes & heirloom tomato salad were incredible), super friendly and funny to our group of crazies and even cut and packaged our cake for us. I had the braised short rib with their famous grits—10/10. Can’t wait to come back!"
