After the long drive to the North Shore, watching the boats and surfers come and go from the harbor while you enjoy a mai tai on the open-air lanai here may be just what you need. This casual little joint, just past the Rainbow Bridge, rarely changes (to some, that might feel dated, but regulars appreciate the familiarity); a more upscale Kaneohe location overlooks the lush Haiku Gardens.

This casual, island-themed, local spot now has two locations (the original location is Haleiwa, and the other is Kaneohe). The restaurant and bar are open daily from 4:00 pm until 12:00 am, with brunch being served only on Sundays from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm. Haleiwa Joe’s is known for its delicious fish, shrimp, and fresh seafood, as well as its “from the land” selection, including steak, chicken, ribs, and much more.

Bone-in Prime Rib, Crunchy Coconut Shrimp, Chipotle Grilled Pork Chop, and Premium Grade Ahi Tuna are a sample of the onolicious selections that you get from this long run establishment. Catch a sunset with your dinner, and you’ll see why Haleiwa Joe’s has been doing well since opening in 1998. Note that why are open for lunch as well, with great affordable options like fish tacos & ½ rack of baby back ribs!

Historic Haleiwa town has a strong presence of history with several plantation-era buildings still up, present and operational today. This “landmark” country town known as Haleiwa has maintained most of its historical presence in these ever changing modern times. It’s just a quick and enjoyable detour on your bigger journey, but this town is just what we recommend in-between surfs or scenic stops.

Haleiwa Joe’s is more of a tourist spot on the North Shore, it’s slightly pricier than other local restaurants and is usually busy, but I think the fun, tropical atmosphere is worth spending an evening here during your stay!. The appetizer platters are a good way to sample the island’s seafood options; pair it with one of their signature Mai Tai’s and you’re in for a delicious, tropical evening!

This classic Hawaiian restaurant not only serves up some of the freshest seafood around but is also located in quite the picturesque setting. An iconic Hawaiian seafood restaurant, Haleiwa Joe’s original location is found in — you guessed it — Haleiwa. Haleiwa Joe’s at Haiku Garden is my favorite place on Oahu and one of the best places to eat in Hawaii. I really cannot stress how much I recommend you go here. Dining here makes you feel like you are eating dinner in Jurassic Park and, to make it even better, the food is also to die for.

There are only two Haleiwa restaurants close to the ocean, and this is one of them. Next to the Haleiwa bridge, with a great view of the harbor and sunset, Haleiwa Joe's serves up fresh local seafood such as whole Hawaiian moi, opakapaka, ahi, and whatever comes in fresh that day.…

Experience the best of Hawaiian flavors in a stunning oceanfront setting. The salmon spinach salad is a standout dish, featuring a combination of fresh spinach, succulent salmon, and flavorful mushrooms. The ingredients are expertly prepared and complement each other beautifully.

Haleiwa Joe’s is hands-down one of the best dining experiences you can have on Oahu. While we visited their Kaneohe location (which, by the way, is a must-do when you’re in that area!), I have no doubt their Haleiwa restaurant delivers the same level of perfection.

Kaneohe restaurant has better views of the mountains and greenery than beachfront eateries. Kaneohe and the north shore of Oahu are where you’ll find us. Haleiwa Joes is a great place to get a unique take on local favorites.

Today, the restaurant Haleiwa Joe’s stands where the hotel once stood. The area is also filled with cool surf shops, boutiques, incredible art galleries, and charming local restaurants in plantation-era buildings.

They’ve moved locations a few times, but right now they are planted across from Haleiwa Joe’s right before the bridge. They have all sorts of toppings, but they charge PER TOPPING, so keep that in mind.

Some other food places I really like are Kahuku Farms and, in Haleiwa, Haleiwa Joe’s, Haleiwa Bowls for acai, and Pupukea Grill—everything at the grill is amazing!

Haleiwa Joe’s: Although we didn’t eat at this location in Haleiwa itself, we ate at the Haiku Gardens spot. I can promise the food is super fresh and oh so tasty!

Haleiwa Joe’s is one of the only upmarket restaurants in the Haleiwa area. The food here was excellent. And the service, even better.

On our circle island tour, we make a stop in this village for some great treats, like shaved ice and even lunch at Haleiwa Joes.
