We’re looking at 53 by the sea, pig and the lady, and moku kitchen so far. Senia was on the list but they are closed for renovations during our stay- I did see that they are doing a special 5 course menu with Podmore but there is a note that they can’t accommodate dietary restrictions with the fixed menu (totally understandable). My husband is a very adventurous eater so we will definitely try a variety of places.

Just past several industrial-desolate blocks, 53 by the Sea is hidden out on the tip of the point of Kewalo Basin boat harbor. Even if its parking lot does share a drive with the public access lot of Kaka‘ako Beach Park, this is good—if you’re looking for fresh fish, it’s got that slightly raffish, Pier 38, Fisherman’s Wharf vibe.

My jaw literally dropped when I first went to 53 By the Sea’s website because that is how incredible their view is from the dining room. And I wish I was being sarcastic about that or just using puffery, but my jaw literally did drop. The view lets you see the ocean all the way across the bay where you can see the Honolulu skyline.

As you walk through the doors at 53 by the Sea, you’ll realize that this venue isn’t like the others. Regis Ova Caviar and New Zealand King Salmon are delicacies offered at this great dining establishment.
