Reviews Summary

Sushi Sho is lauded for its intimate setting and the exceptional quality and artistry of its sushi, with many calling it a top-tier dining experience. Guests are impressed by the skilled chefs and the freshness of the fish. However, some feel that communication about the dishes could be better, and the sake pairing, while generous, can be overwhelming.

"Sushi Sho is one of North America's finest sushi restaurants. The price is commensurate with the quality. A definite do not miss for a special occasion meal or just a well deserved treat."

Hal Davis

"Dining at Sushi Sho was a memorable experience, especially getting to watch Chefs work with such precision and artistry right in front of us.

The craftsmanship and dedication to every piece of sushi were clear, and the quality of the fish was outstanding.

I opted for the sake pairing, which-while generous-felt a bit overwhelming for one small person. A lighter or more curated pairing might be more enjoyable.

I also would have appreciated a bit more explanation about each dish, especially given the complexity and uniqueness of the menu. The chef clearly put a lot of intention into each bite, but the communication didn't quite match that level of care.
Lastly, while the chef was highly engaged, the supporting staff seemed a bit distracted with other parties, which made the overall service feel slightly uneven.
Still, it was a special evening and worth experiencing if you're interested in high-level omakase in Honolulu."

Amber Boston

"Edomae-style sushi omakase with great sake-pairing options. Top-notch varieties of fish and delicate prep for all of them.
Very high-end, expecting at least $600+ per person for the pairing experience and extra dishes to feel full at the end."

You enter at the midpoint of a tunnel-like room, your gaze immediately drawn to the right. Here, where long, dark-wood slats of a semicircular ceiling meet the blonde arc of a cypress sushi bar, is center stage at Sushi Sho. All the lights shine down on this space, illuminating Edomae sushi masters as they slice precisely cured seafood, shape it onto rice and place the morsels of nigiri sushi before diners ringing the stage.
