Today, the crew continues to fly beyond the rigid structure of top-tier lounges and tasting menus, showing off a sense of humor with everyday food, a short and smart list of brunch-y cocktails (try the chilled Meyer Frappe, dosed with either dry sherry or vodka), and a heartwarming, all-are-welcome attitude (including your dogs on the patio). There’s also a break-even wine selection modeled after Anvil’s spirits program alongside specials like euphoric “Party Melts” at the bar after 9 pm and nourishing half-priced burgers.

One of the most happening spots in The Heights—other than the nonstop pedestrian crosswalk at Heights and 7th—might be the patio. Better Luck Tomorrow is also worth a mention here, as its small plates menu is full of millennial greatest hits such as duck fat, shishito peppers, a fancy grilled cheese, burrata and beets—again, I cannot explain it.

But after that I’ll meet friends at Better Luck Tomorrow, a Heights cocktail bar that also serves great food. My favorites on the menu are the lamb belly, the patty melt and, of course, the fried chicken.
