Get the thin, crisp numbers topped with things like kale and swiss chard, ricotta cream, and fennel sausage, then toss in shareables from the house favorite Octopus Pasta and an astonishingly good take on Braised Beans to the loaded ice cream sundae you’re most definitely having for dessert.

This EaDo spot keeps the pizza simple and a little snazzy—it’s like the restaurant threw a blazer over a graphic tee before heading out of the door. The compact dining room is full of mismatch chandeliers fit for a sophisticated fairy dinner party with dainty slices of pizza. Thin slices of ricotta pizza are topped with delightfully charred kale greens and a crispy crust that is just soft enough for the slice to fold over with ease.

Opened in 2020 by the folks behind the acclaimed Nancy’s Hustle, Tiny Champions is small in name but big in charm. The relaxed hipster haunt features great pasta dishes like the beloved radiator noodles that rotate on and off the menu, currently served with braised octopus, Calabrese chile, and gremolata; as well as some of the best pizzas in Houston, like the anchovy pie with tomato sauce, garlic, and salsa verde. But you shouldn't skip over the "vegetables" section of the menu—those braised butter beans come up in our dreams.

This eclectic bar, dining room and patio in Houston’s East End features unpredictable and delicious combinations of ingredients and flavors with a vaguely Italian angle, starting with crusty orbs of fried scamorza cheese intermingled with discs of pickled cherry peppers and a marinara dipping sauce. Butter beans might come braised in a savory garlic sauce, combined with strands of dill and charred, pickled peppers. Linguine pasta might appear dressed with almonds, feta, chile sauce and mint.

Located in Downtown Houston, Tiny Champions offers pizza for all tastebuds!. One with anchovy filets, one with fennel sausage and still another with salami and hot honey. If you are left with any room at all for more, they also have quite the dessert selection — fresh baked spiced molasses cookies, warm pistachio and quince tart, or a coffee ice cream sundae.

With thin crisp slices full of innovative combinations, this place gets people looking forward to their meal. The restaurant is also known for its intimate setting, creating friendly service and an easy going atmosphere.

**The coffee ice cream sundae ($12) is the perfect way to end a meal at this pizzeria from the team behind Nancy's Hustle. At Tiny Champions, coffee beans are cold-steeped in housemade ice cream for 48 hours, infusing it with rich flavor. The sundae is then topped with hot fudge and pillowy, freshly fried donut holes.

Some Houstonians initially thrilled to welcome the mega-popular burger chain were left wondering why they’d have to trek to the suburbs for their animal-style fries. After all, restaurant-centric neighborhoods like Montrose and the Heights are usually the first to welcome highly anticipated establishments.

The Happy Hour at Tiny Champions, an Italian spot EaDo, is only from 5-6pm. But you can fill every minute sitting on their cozy patio with a half-price pizza, half-price glasses of wine, and $5 cocktails. You can also get half dozen oysters for $15, which are only available for Happy Hour.

TINY CHAMPIONS During “golden hour,” this EaDo favorite offers winning food and drinks at tiny prices. The northeast oysters are a bargain and where else can you find stellar pizzas for half-off?. The “green” pizza is so good you should order two.

At Tiny Champion, reservations are not needed, but it does help you secure a table faster. You can choose between sitting inside or on the patio. On our last visit to Tiny Champions, we liked how friendly and helpful everyone on the staff was.
