Did you know that Bazbeaux was the whimsical name given to his court jester by the French King Louis XI?. No me neither until I found this restaurant. Bazbeaux was later challenged by Lorenzo The Magnificent to use his creativity and whimsy to create culinary endeavors he did, hence the name of this pizzeria

There are several Bazbeaux Pizza locations in and outside of Indianapolis, but the one I go to is the Westfield location in the Broad Ripple area. This spot isn’t for you if you’re looking for traditional Italian pizza. However, I love Bazbeaux because you can order creative pies with lots of tasty toppings.

This local favorite offers thin-crust pizzas that please every palate. Bazbeaux’s Broad Ripple location is especially great for families, featuring outdoor seating near the canal. Kids enjoy personal-sized pizzas and simple toppings, while adults can savor creative options like the Quattro Formaggio.

Both times I sampled the city’s pizza hotspots: first the locally-iconic Bazbeaux Pizza, then the Union Jack Pub. Both are located in Broad Ripple section, a neighborhood in northern Indianapolis. Bazbeaux, in business since 1986, was kind of ahead it’s time as far as fancy pizzas go.

No restaurant list is complete without at least one good pizza parlor!. And Bazbeaux Pizza is one of the best local pies in Indy, with three different locations across the region. During the week, you can stop in for lunch and grab some pizza by the slice.

Ordering a few pizzas to split is a great option when dining out as a family and Bazbeaux will not disappoint. The specialty pizzas and salads we ordered were delicious. They even even gluten free crusts.

Make sure you dine at this the original location and ask to be seated in the basement, or outside. It gives you a better feel for the place, location.
