While we're discussing the lay-out of Indianapolis, I'd be remiss not to start with Ralston's, named for the city planner who designed Indianapolis in 1821, Alexander Ralston, a disciple of Pierre L'Enfant, of Washington D.C.

The Eagle has good fried chicken dishes as well as decent cocktails. The Ball and Biscuit has good, but overpriced imo, cocktails. The Tapp and 16 Bit aren't technically on Mass Ave, but are close.

Then there's also a lot of buzz around The Eagle, which is American comfort food, and Vida, which grows the herbs they use on a plant wall in the restaurant—but I haven't made it to those two yet.
