Reviews Summary

Mia Restaurant is highly praised for its diverse Pan-Asian tapas, creative dishes, and exceptional service. Diners rave about the flavorful options, many of which can be tailored to dietary needs. While most experiences are overwhelmingly positive, some find the cocktails to be just average, and the price point can be a consideration for some.

"Mia was busy and seated is at the bar and then opened up a table before we ordered just for us. Very helpful. Offered in shifts to see if we were still hungry and had great Chans clams and the rest was good."

Kevin Markman

"Mia’s was a treat. There were plenty of vegan and GF options in addition to the non veg offerings. We sat on the covered patio in the back as the main dining room was very cold.

Camila, our server, was very attentive and provided excellent service. The food was outstanding, and we especially enjoyed the lotus root fritters. They were so good I had to ask to make sure they were vegan/gf!

Treat yourself to this family owned and run delight in Ithaca."

Robert Bozeman

"We had a great experience here. The service was exceptional and the food was delicious. My fiancé has severe food allergies, and we felt completely comfortable eating here. The first thing our waitress asked was if anyone had any allergies or dietary restrictions. She was extremely knowledgeable about the menu and what he could eat safely. Everything we tried was great. We recommend the sweet potato fries and the roast duck! The cocktails were just okay, but we didn’t mind because everything else was so yummy and the staff was so attentive, competent, and kind."

My deflection: “I really can’t answer that because there are so many culturally diverse restaurants in Ithaca and so many different price ranges, it would be like comparing apples with oranges.” However, I do think it’s fair to say that among all restaurants in this area, Mia certainly belongs in the top five. And, without hesitation I can add that this restaurant, located on the Commons, ranks first in their offering of Tapas, (small portions). Fully half their total offerings are on their “Tapas Menu” with about four dozen items to choose from.

a ravenous goodbye to Ithaca, New York

Statistically speaking, it was probable that in the ninety some odd days I was writing this blog, a new restaurant would open in Ithaca. That said, given my propensity to dilly-daddle, mosey, and/or lollygag, I couldn’t imagine that if this theoretical new restaurant were to open that I might be the first one to review it. A quick, lazy Google search after my trip to Mia Restaurant on the Commons last week turned up no intrepid Yelp reviewer’s commentary.

I was filled with anticipation as I eagerly ventured to this acclaimed establishment, enticed by raving reviews. Regrettably, my visit fell short of expectations as the sea bass arrived overdone. Despite this misstep, the diverse menu offerings and inviting ambiance proved memorable.

Mia - The 2nd tapas place on the Commons, but this one's a little swankier and is Asian fusion. Some really dynamite options on the menu, with some dishes I don't think I'd see anywhere else. Worth trying at least once just because the menu's so unique.
