I'm gluten free, told my waitress I was and asked for some exchanges like gluten free toast. This was the only thing I ate on Saturday because later in the day, I had a massive gluten allergy reaction. I'm not sure if the waitress didn't tell the chef or the chef didn't read the ticket correctly, but there was gluten.

A mix of culture and cuisine—from noodle bowls to burgers (black bean for the vegan option), they have something for everyone’s palate. Some of its standouts on the menu include the Thai noodle bowl with bok choy, eggplant, mushrooms, ginger, and Thai basil and its truffle fries with truffle oil, garlic and parsley.

Although served only on weekends from 9am to 3 p.m., brunch at MIX was iconic enough to take home the win in this year’s Best Brunch category. MIX offers a diverse range of offerings on their extensive brunch menu, including vegan plates.

Though its location is a little out of the way, Mix is my friend group’s all-time favorite brunch spot. The menu is expansive — with items ranging from Greek omelettes to hamburgers!. Everyone is bound to find something they love.

It will take much more than a weekend to sample all the wonderful places to eat in Ithaca, but MIX Kitchen & Bar is one not to be missed. It’s a place where creative dishes come together in a friendly neighborhood restaurant.

Their brunch menu includes omelets, waffles (including a vanilla bean malted waffle), buttermilk pancakes, as well as vegan options (such as the cinnamon maple vegan French toast and vegan crab cake Benedict).

Mix Kitchen on Elmira Road has added outdoor seating in front of the restaurant as well as their back patio, and they’ve got happy hour food and drink specials and a new menu to welcome diners back.

Mix undoubtedly has one of Ithaca’s most extensive breakfast and lunch menus. It is truly extraordinary. The restaurant is excellent for those who want to share food on small plates (like tapas).
