Head to Big Hole BBQ to hang out at a rowdy sports bar, sip a $2 PBR, and eat some top-notch barbecue. We’re always torn between the tender smoked chicken, brisket, or pork, so we usually just order one of each in slider form. The housemade mac and cheese is big enough for a meal itself but also works as a bed for a helping of brisket.

If you’re craving mouthwatering, slow-cooked BBQ, you have to check out Big Hole BBQ. The small, family-owned restaurant makes all of its barbecue items from scratch using fresh ingredients. The extensive menu offers everything from delicious pierogies to smoked chicken wings, fish tacos, burgers, and, of course, ribs, brisket, and pulled pork. While most visitors will be here for the BBQ Pork Ribs, I definitely suggest trying out other menu items, such as the Prime Rib Sammy and the Mini BBQ Tacos.

This BBQ is slow smoked, made from scratch with lots of love and attention. They source the freshest ingredients and the food is so delicious, that sometimes they sell out—lucky for you, all the menu options are mouthwatering, so you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. Choose from specialty tacos, burgers and meaty sandwiches or order a variety of mouthwatering starters as your main meal.

Best barbecue—I’ve only eaten there once, but Big Hole Barbecue made an indelible impression on my taste buds. In every category you can judge a barbecue restaurant by (ribs, sauces, brisket, baked beans, mac and cheese, sides), Big Hole BBQ takes the cake. Bubba’s BBQ and Mo’s BBQ are also both great, but Big Hole is some of the finest BBQ I’ve ever had.

The trip from Jackson to Darby Wind Cave trailhead takes between an hour to an hour and a half, though I recommend stopping in at Big Hole BBQ in Victor. It’s a pretty delicious little eatery. They say that the seafood tacos are the best, though I’m not hugely fond of fish and water critters, so I can’t offer much of an assessment there.

Just a stone’s throw from MMM are some great spots to satisfy your cravings, including Big Hole BBQ (amazing, fresh smoked bbq) & BAPP Korean cuisine literally ON our property. Right down the way you’ll also come across Everest Momo Shack (authentic Nepali & east Indian grub), gather (creative American) and Pinky G’s for pizza.

Three more of our favorites include the house nachos at Big Hole BBQ, with shredded cabbage and cilantro, the bueno nachos, with Oaxaca cheese, refried beans and your choice of protein from Merry Piglets Mexican Cafe, and the nachos deluxe at El Abuelito.

In Victor, best bets include barbecue and steaks at the aforementioned Knotty Pine, and the Big Hole BBQ, which does a brisket-topped ⅓-pound burger and house smoked wings.

They offered a covered patio with plenty of dog-friendly tables. As a bonus for us, they had plenty of local beers available!
