This is a good point to note that we were sat down at Hatch Taqueria with a pitcher of spicy margaritas and a molcajete of guacamole less than an hour after landing, we do not mess around. We went for a family style sharing concept since the tacos came in pairs and we wanted to try them all (or close enough). The menu boasts an array of tacos that are as authentic as they can come like the al pastor and some with a Western flare like the BBQ pulled pork which was a winner in my books.

At first I was disappointed when I arrived back to Jackson and didn’t see food stalls lining the streets offering up fresh corn smothered in Mexican spices and lime, but I soon discovered Hatch Taqueria serves a delicious street corn appetizer. Their freshly roasted corn is covered with queso fresco, dried chilies, lime, cilantro and Mexican spices. When eating it, if I close my eyes, it takes me right back to the hustle and bustle of the Mexico City streets.

Just off Jackson Hole’s historic town square, Hatch prides itself on pairing a fresh modern Mexican cuisine with an inviting lively atmosphere. Their breakfast menu is brimming with fresh Mexican “desayunos” like a chorizo plate, bacon & avocado tacos and coconut banana french toast. Wash it all down with fresh brewed coffee or hey, try one of their famous margaritas which will question every other marg you’ve ever had.

We have everything from Mexican tapas at Hatch, Nepalese samosas at Everest MoMo Shack, and Japanese octopus ceviche at Suda. But, while you’re here, you should keep that adventurous spirit going with some of our local specialties: Elk and Bison!. Now, you won’t be eating the elk and bison that you see out of your car window; restaurants get their elk and bison farm raised, but that doesn’t diminish how tasty they are!

There are six campgrounds and one RV park within the park itself, with only Colter Bay RV Park and the Headwaters Campground & RV Sites at Flagg Ranch taking reservations (see the National Park Service site for more information). Otherwise, the park’s campground are first come, first serve and fill up QUICKLY (the Jenny Lake campground often gets filled before 8 AM!), so be sure to get to the park early!

For lunch, I enjoyed a tortilla soup(containing tomatoes, onions, summer squashes, lime, cilantro, avocado, crispy tortilla strips) with a side of vegan tortilla chips and salsa dip at Hatch Taqueria Restaurant (Hatch Taqueria Restaurant). My beverage was a refreshing huckleberry lemonade. This casual and spacious restaurant in downtown Jackson offers popular Mexican fare at reasonable prices.

Eleanor’s Bar and Grill offers both half ($7) a full ($10.50) orders of nachos and “tot-chos.” Pictured here are the “tot-chos,” which come with tater tots instead of traditional corn chips. Both dishes come with cheddar and jack cheese, beer cheese, black beans, red bell peppers, onions, salsa, pico de gallo and sour cream. You can also add chicken, pulled pork, or shredded beef for $3.

Hatch Taqueria and Tequilas has ten varieties of what one might call artisanal tacos, like the chicken tinga variety with braised chicken, chipotle-tomato mole, fresh cilantro and queso fresco. The tequila menu requires a degree in reposados and mezcals -- or you can plant a blind finger on the list for the win with choices like Milagro S.B.R. and Clase Azul.

Hatch Taqueria & Tequilas proved to be a surprising good tacos spot — especially if you like salmon and tuna tacos and corn shells. Gather’s food is good if you get past the cooler-than-thou gatekeeper. Really, if you’re sitting outside on a mountain night with a drink in your hand, it’s hard to go too wrong.

Keep your eyes open for restaurants with decks including Healthy Being Juicery, Hayden’s Post, Hatch Taqueria, Bin22, Cowboy Coffee and The Bird. Bear in mind that dogs are not allowed inside most restaurants unless considered a service or companion dog.

Hatch Taqueria and Tequilas – I am a sucker for tacos and margaritas so naturally, I had to check this place out. I can confirm that the tacos and margaritas are delicious. I also highly recommend the queso fundido.

Hatch is a fun, upscale taqueria with a great bar and an even better vibe. We ordered the tortilla soup and the veggie taco without cheese and aioli. I almost never find a vegan tortilla soup so this was a treat.

Just off Jackson Hole’s historic Town Square, Hatch Taqueria is famous for fresh tacos, house-made salsas, and the largest selection of Tequilas and Mezcals in Jackson.

Hatch offers traditional Mexican dishes with a modern twist, as well as a diverse lineup of distinctive tequilas and house-crafted cocktails.

It is a Mexican restaurant that has the best reviews but my husband isn’t the biggest Mexican food fan so we chose to go somewhere else.

Hatch – we stumbled upon this one, but they had killer, refreshing tacos and ballin’ Palomas that were perfect for a boozy late lunch.

I loved Hatch for lunch — it was great to have a different option than the usual (meat) that’s more typical in Jackson.
