Reviews Summary

Mojo No. 4 is praised for its delicious BBQ, particularly the ribs and brisket, and its extensive whiskey selection. While many enjoy the friendly service and relaxed atmosphere, some reviews mention inconsistent service and blandness in certain dishes. Despite minor critiques, the unique menu items and overall quality keep patrons coming back.

"The BBQ and fried pickles were great. Great sauces. I’m a BBQ snob and the ribs are great. Prices are very reasonable for the quality. Awesome cocktails!!! Everyone is friendly, but the bar tender was the best. Went out of her way to help me when my phone died. If i lived in Jacksonville this would be my regular joint. If your visiting this place is on the must go list."

"Came on a Saturday afternoon about 3:30 PM. Not many people in the restaurant got sat right away. The food is appetizing and we had some good drinks. Reasonably priced for the area. This would’ve been a great experience if it wasn’t for the service."

"Visited:: 31Mar25. I don't know if I caught them on a slow day or what it was. My roommate has gone on and on about this place, how it's good BBQ. Well we finally went. I'm a fair reviewer if you see my other reviews, I tell the good and the bad. Personal honest opinion. We entered and was hardly greeted, he just said how many sit wherever. There was a son and dad, a couple and the bar and us. The server then came up didn't say her name, didn't say I'll be the one taking care of you etc. no enthusiasm no smile. Actually no one was. She brought us our drinks took our order. I was informed that the 2 meat platter would be enough to eat now and have some for work tomorrow. That was not the case. My roommate ordered a beer didn't ask if she wanted another until it was gone and we were done eating. My water was empty by the time she got me a new one. She never came and asked how everything was can I get you anything etc. I asked for hot sauce for my collard greens which is fine but should have been addressed maybe when the food came out. She was too busy talking to other co workers instead of serving us. The food was alright, I've gotten bigger portions at Bono's, Sonny's or missions. Things were bland honestly. She never asked if we wanted an appetizer or dessert at the end, which is usually asked for sales purposes. The whole atmosphere was down, everyone acted like they didn't want to be there. I watched a family get a to go order and they were hardly greeted and barely talked to. I believe it shouldn't matter if I'm there and it's busy or not the service and people just need to look and be enthusiastic and not look down and sad. Unsure of giving it another chance."

With pulled pork, beef brisket, smoked chicken and turkey breast all on offer, Mojo’s provides all of the makings of a smoky and saucy feast. Though barbecue platters (served with Texas toast and homemade sides such as mac-and-cheese and collard greens) are a solid choice, Mojo’s specialty sandwiches—like the BBQ Reuben with sliced brisket, crispy slaw, Jack cheese and 1000 Island dressing—lend a unique take on standard ‘cue.

Cole Pepper is a barbecue snob. Here are 5 of his favorite local spots

This is a tough piece of meat to get right and some Florida barbecue contests don’t even touch it. But while we’re switching gears from the topic of burnt ends, Cole recommends MOJO, specifically no.4 Urban BBQ Whiskey Bar, for brisket. “They season it well, but they don’t overcook it, and it’s very easy to dry out brisket,” Cole said.
