"Best oyster PO Boy I've had since 2012 outside of New Orleans. Fun atmosphere and good beer at the West Sixth Brewery that's attached. Good Fish and chips."

"Decided to try something new while in Lexington. Had the fish and chips with slaw and hush puppies. Wasn’t a bad meal, fish was a little greasy and hush puppies could use some more flavor. Also had the hot catfish for an appetizer and it was good"

"Located next to a cool craft brewery in downtown Lexington KY, this restaurant offers great food along with a wide choice of good local beers you can order in house when you dine in. I ordered the fish and chips which is excellent-moist, flaky not dry. The cod was fresh with a deep golden crispy crust cooked using the brewery’s signature west 6th beer batter. The cold slaw was not overly sweet yet crunchy and refreshing."

Why You Should Visit Lexington, Kentucky for the Food
As its reputation for proud but progressive Southern cooking spread amongst locavore-leaning consumers and critics looking for true destination dining, the couple branched out with a growing restaurant group (dubbed the Ouita Michel Family) that focuses on approachable food with quality ingredients: Over the years, that's meant crusty po-boys (Windy Corner, opened in 2010), scratch-made scones (The Midway Bakery, opened in 2012), crackly fish and chips (Smithtown Seafood, opened in 2013), and a Hot Brown-inspired burger—beef topped with bacon, ham, and creamy Mornay cheese—that nearly brought Guy Fieri to his knees (Wallace Station Deli and Bakery, opened in 2003). Meanwhile, after more than 15 years of heading up her kitchens, Michel has largely shed her line cook role in favor of menu development and quality control throughout every corner of her horse-country empire.

"Smithtown is another chef Ouita brainchild very ably run by chef Jonathan Sanning. The catfish is wild caught; the tilapia and the salad greens are raised in the same building as the restaurant by a great nonprofit known as Food Chain."
