A few standouts are Gladstone’s Long Beach and the red-roofed Parkers’ Lighthouse, both of which have gorgeous views of the marina, Lion’s Lighthouse, and the Queen Mary moored permanently just across the water in Queensway Bay. (Though seafood is always top of mind at waterfront spots, it’s the Garlic Cheese Bread Burger at Parkers’ that was named one of Long Beach’s most iconic dishes.) About 5 miles further east is another one of the city’s waterfront areas with lots of on-the-water dining options, Alamitos Bay and the 2nd & PCH neighborhood. Drop by the 10,000-square-foot San Pedro Fish Market for one of the seafood trays they are known for, and of course, the views.

Their menu is “inspired by the Pacific,” and that’s made obvious by items like Parker’s Mesquite-Grilled Fresh Fish, Jumbo Seared Georges Bank Scallops, the famous Mariner Platter, and a full Sushi and Sashimi menu.

California’s first bar and restaurant celebrating women’s sports, Watch Me!. Sports Bar (6527 E Pacific Coast Hwy, Unit B-2) serves burgers on a gluten-free bun on request.

I thought we’d only find low-end pizza shacks at Shoreline Village, but we had a grand lunch at Parkers Lighthouse (an actual working lighthouse), just up the steps from the landing. The restaurant is a classy place with great design, lots of space between tables, a wonderful airy feeling and a good menu (Thai salad, Tuscan sandwich).

Parker’s Lighthouse was recommended to me by Eric, who said the grilled salmon there was “perfect.” I can’t wait to see how it stacks up to Roe’s Scottish salmon. The harbor views at Parkers’ Lighthouse are as impressive as its seafood-filled menu. But, it does have land-based options, too. Its kids’ menu is great, offering salmon, popcorn shrimp, chicken tenders and more, plus entrees include unlimited refills and ice cream or sorbet for dessert.

If you are after a fresh lunch in Shoreline Village, Parker’s Lighthouse is where its at!. Beautiful from the water and on land, I found the decor and food to be a perfect spot for lunch after a morning of touring Long Beach.
