That said, Graze Restaurant doesn't serve breakfast, only brunch, but if you visit for brunch, you won't be disappointed. You need to get the Milk Bread Cinnamon Roll, the Loaded Hashbrowns, the Wisconsin Cheese Board, the Two Eggs Any Style, or the Black Kale Ceasar.

Graze is the perfect lunch spot with a beautiful view of the Capitol. On the weekends, it is quite popular especially because it’s right across the street from the farmers market (that is only opened on the weekends). So after walking around and tasting Madison favorites like cheesy bread or homemade apple cider, you can head over to Graze for a nice farm to table lunch with a view.

My top favorites are Heritage Tavern, a new American foodie favorite, Graze which specializes in local farm-to-table dishes, or Graft, a posh bistro with Midwestern small plates. If you love sushi, RED Sushi is me and Sam’s “spot” because of their creative rolls and flavors. If you are looking for a nice view, Eno Vino at the top of the Marriott Hotel can’t be beat.

For a summer seasonal drink on the other had, the winner is for sure Magic Coffee at Graze. This is a Dane County Farmers Market staple, that you can order at the sidewalk cafe counter outside of Graze on Saturday mornings roughly May through August.

Also on the Capitol Square, Graze uses Hook’s cheese curds + tosses them in a vodka batter, keeping the curds light and crispy. Served with a house-made buttermilk ranch, the lighter batter makes you want to dunk them even more.

It’s common, especially in the last decade, for classically trained chefs to open fast casual concepts (locally, consider L’Etoile and Graze, RED and Jacknife, and in Milwaukee, Justin Carlisle’s Ardent and Red Light Ramen).

Graze brings its own take on the classic cheese curds with a beer batter that hits just the right notes. Paired with Hook’s Cheese Curds and buttermilk ranch, these curds harmonize crispiness and gooey goodness.
