The Delft Bistro

With an excellent brunch, The Delft Bistro is another Marquette spot housed in an old theater. This one, though, still has a giant screen and plays movies as you nosh on the city’s best breakfast sandwich (local eggs, bacon, cheddar, arugula, aioli, and fabulous house sourdough). Bonus: It’s connected to Donckers and Evergreen Market.

Local Breweries Marquette is also home to some fantastic local breweries. If you’re a beer lover, be sure to check out: Blackrocks Brewery Barrel + Beam Ore Dock Brewing Company These breweries offer a unique selection of craft beers that highlight the local flavors of the region.

The Delft is located in an old movie theater, plays films without sound while patrons eat, and offers fun food concoctions that taste great. We recommend the Foghorn Leghorn - a fried chicken sandwich featuring bacon jam - with an order of their tempura fried cheese curds on the side. If you make it there for brunch, you can't go wrong with their Praline Croissant French Toast or Short Ribs Eggs Benny and a cocktail.

Another newcomer to Marquette is The Delft Bistro, operated by the same people who own Donckers, and occupying the old fashioned Delft Theatre that used to be on Washington Street. Serving “New American Fare,” The Delft aims to give new, high-end takes on classic dishes that we know and love. They have a variety of meals, including burgers, pasta, ribs, and even sushi on Thursdays!

Do dinner and a movie at the same time at the Delft Bistro, where movies play silently on the screen while you dine. You can’t miss the big, bright marquee on Washington Street in downtown Marquette. Serving up a seasonally-rotating menu of modern American fare in a mellow atmosphere, along with cocktails made with house-made syrups, fresh-squeezed juices, and fresh herbs.

Serving gluten-free and vegan-friendly items, The Delft Bistro is one of the best diet-friendly restaurants in Marquette Michigan. Along with fries made in a dedicated fryer, the menu includes a range of items, including high-end versions of classic dishes — burgers, ribs, and sushi. You even get to see the cooking happen with the open kitchen concept.

The restaurant, which is located in an old theatre, plays movies on the wall (sans sound) while you dine and many of the excellent cocktails are named after famous films. Plus, the food is good, that atmosphere is on point, and there are multiple vegan and GF options. Our humble recommendation: anything with the blackened carrot-ginger balls.

Event Description: Come down to The Delft Bistro for a special menu pairing with some delicious brews from Brewery Vivant. The menu will be offered prix-fixe or a la carte and will incorporate select beers in the food specials!. Ryan from Brewery Vivant will be there to hand out swag and answer any and all questions about the beer.

A sunny afternoon lunch under the old marquee at The Delft Bistro made for the start of a great afternoon. We really enjoyed the vibe of the small patio here, and happily ordered from a menu filled with “New American Fare”. I ordered the Falafel with a side of brussel sprouts, and Micah went for the poutine.

The DELFT shares walls with Donckers and shares a steady stream of visitors for their quality food. Being a converted movie theater, the Delft offers a unique dining experience with some type of entertainment projected on the main dining room wall. The food here is New American Fare and is delicious.

Located in an old theater, The Delft Bistro is a busy, chic casual American fare restaurant. With a nod to the former Delft Theater, there is a giant screen covering a two-story wall playing an assortment of movie entertainment to enjoy while you dine. You can even call ahead to see what’s playing.

Husband has celiac and KP, our wonderful server, made note to the chef as to avoid cross contamination. He started out with the truffle seasoned fries which was a huge treat. Main course was coconut curry with chicken.

If you are looking for a more refined meal you can find that too. My personal favorites are the Loaded Brussel Sprouts and the Harvest Beet Salad. You can expect a perfectly prepared meal.

Holiday Inn, Harley's Restaurant and Lounge, Wooden Nickel, The Delft Bistro, Northland Pub, The Up North Lodge, Cafe Bodega, Stucko's, Remies, and Barr's Bar all participated.

If a restaurant could win an award for how it looked outside it would be this one. It’s in a converted movie theatre and still has the vintage movie signage outside.

There are plenty of nearby bars to wait at while you wait for a table. The atmosphere was modern and fun. A band was playing while we dined.
