Reviews Summary

COTE Miami offers a highly-rated Korean steakhouse experience with impeccable service and a chic ambiance, celebrated for its premium meats and interactive grilling. While many praise the quality of the food and the attentive staff, some diners have noted issues with feeling rushed and an occasional imbalance in flavors, with a few reviewers expressing that the experience did not fully meet Michelin-star expectations.

"We celebrated our wedding anniversary at Cote Miami, a Korean BBQ that delivered a truly unique dining experience. The servers expertly handled the preparation of the dishes right at our table, adding to the interactive charm of the evening. The accompaniments were also delicious, though those sensitive to spice might find some of them a bit intense. The food overall was outstanding, the ambiance elegant with a cool, sophisticated vibe, and the service marked by exceptional attention to detail."

Yesni Zuley Duran Fillippo

"After several visits to Miami, we were finally able to get a reservation at Cote — it’s a popular spot, so I highly recommend booking in advance to secure a table. The restaurant has an elegant atmosphere, but I wouldn’t suggest dressing too formally, as the meat is cooked right at the table and the smoky aroma tends to linger on your clothes. You can already sense that smoky scent as soon as you walk in, with the aroma of grilled meat filling the space from every table.

There’s a bar area where guests wait until their table is ready. The staff is incredibly kind, attentive, and professional — the level of service is truly excellent. The bar offers a wide variety of cocktails, though some are served from cans into a glass, which was a bit unexpected.

The food is plentiful, with a generous selection of meats and side dishes. The meat is grilled at the table, enhanced by the wonderful attention and care of the staff. They also have an excellent wine list.

Given that it’s a Michelin-starred restaurant, I was expecting a bit more in terms of flavor balance and the overall presentation. Still, it’s a lovely experience for those who enjoy high-quality grilled meats. I do recommend it."

"We recently celebrated our anniversary at COTE Miami, and everything from start to finish was absolutely perfect.
A special shoutout to Michael, our waiter, who truly went above and beyond to make our afternoon memorable.
Whether you're a seasoned steak lover or just there for the experience, the menu delivers in every way.
Highly recommend COTE for any special occasion or anytime you want a top-tier dining experience in Miami."

This Korean heavy-hitter’s New York outpost garnered itself a Michelin star just before the pandemic, and even if you don’t take your restaurant gospel from a tire maker, you’re sure to appreciate Cote. Servers tote finely marbled cuts of everything from Prime Ribeye to A5 Japanese Wagyu to your table, grill it right in front of you, and pair it with a collection of pickled veggies and other Asian-inflected sides. To experience it best, opt for the Butcher’s Feast, a platter spanning four different meats plus generous sides for a very reasonable $58.

Michelin Starred Restaurants in Miami for 2024: Full List

This Korean steakhouse concept scored a Michelin star for its New York City location before opening up this stunning spot in the Design District. Proprietor Simon Kim assured everything here works, from the decor that feels like a secret Seoul supper club, the knowledgeable wait staff that largely cooks the dishes for you from a cooker in the center of the table, to a cocktail menu that makes the always-happening bar worthy of regular drop-ins. All of this is well and good but then comes the food, like the fluffy egg souffle and 45-day dry-aged beef.

COTE Miami is a place to impress anyone and any number of people, but especially like-minded dining mates who don't mind sharing in a family-style meal and having their meals cooked in front of them. It's a "wow" place, so diners are here not just for the A-plus food, but also the unique experience. Service is rarely out of sync, with a barrage of coordinated servers who unassumingly ensure your meats (cooked in front of you on a smokeless grill) are seared to perfection.

Cote for lunch is a lot like Cote for dinner—just not as dark. You can do the $74 butcher's feast prix fixe menu for lunch, which is the best way to eat at this Korean steakhouse for under $100 per person. But there are also dishes exclusive to lunch, like a Korean crudo, black truffle shrimp salad, and something called a "shicken" sandwich, which consists of a fried patty of chicken and minced shrimp (it was sold out when we went, but we are very curious).

15 Must-Try Restaurants on Florida’s First Michelin Guide

This is a huge deal and honor not only for our restaurant group, but the city of Miami, as Michelin typically only reviews dining rooms in cities like Paris, New York, and Singapore, which are renowned for their refined culinary scene; but now Miami is finally getting recognized as an important food scene as the city continues to flourish with international tourists and residents alike,” Chef Juan Manuel Barrientos Valencia of Elcielo said in a statement. “I think South Florida’s burgeoning culinary movement with visionary chefs and restaurateurs alike, is a true reflection of the elevated direction this city is going in from tech to finance, designer retail shops, restaurants and more. We are no longer considered just a place to party, but being taken more seriously as a desirable destination to live, work, dine, and play.
