The second-floor room curtained off from the dimly lit, members-only MM Lounge is highly exclusive, with just 10 seats. At times it feels like there are more people behind the counter, bent over intricate dishes with tweezers in hand or deftly molding rectangles of sticky rice for your next amazing course.

A swanky rooftop restaurant on Lincoln Road, MILA is a place to see and be seen while sipping well-crafted cocktails and ordering Mediterranean-Asian fusion dishes, small plates, and sushi. The stunning focal point is a Zen-like reflection pool flanked by two curtained cabanas that can be reserved for a bit of privacy while dining alfresco. Highlights of the menu include branzino tataki, edamame guacamole, seared scallop roll, and a 32 oz.

The buffet selection is one of the biggest we encountered, with three distinct food stations (four if you count dessert). Nothing here is wildly impressive—but nothing is bad either—and the options are fairly diverse: steak, sushi, pastries, a robata grill, and an advertised jamón carving station that was mysteriously absent during our visit. Keep Mila in mind when you’re looking for an alcohol-heavy brunch.

Dress to impress if you’ve got eyes on this South Beach rooftop. A true Miami see-and-be-seen social situation, Mila maintains an uber-trendy edge with a menu that blends both Mediterranean and Japanese traditions in a vibrant setting overlooking Lincoln Road.
