What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Taquiza is highly praised for its authentic and delicious tacos, especially those made with their signature blue corn masa tortillas. Diners rave about the crispy totopos and unique quesadilla fillings. While many enjoy the beachfront ambiance and friendly staff, some have noted issues with finding the entrance due to construction and confusion regarding payment and added service charges.
"1.18.25 We stopped in for margaritas and tacos as a quick bite. This is such a cute and casual place with indoor and outdoor seating. While we were here, it was under construction, so we could not access it from the beach. The tacos taste and look amazing. It's that "eat with your eyes" thing. And the margaritas with a spicy rim are just perfection."

"If you only ate chips and salsa this place is five stars. The blue corn tortilla chips are amazing. But every taco was also cooked and sauced to perfection. The fish tacos are the star because the fish is perfectly flaky and the batter is like eating flavorful fry bread. Make sure you give it all a try."

"This is a taco place was expecting it to be really tasty because is all they have to offer but the beef was hard the fish wasn’t good and the chicken was dry then had the churro and that was hard as well . Going to have to continue my search for a good taco place because this one is not it . Also the place is hard to find unless you are staying in the hotel that is in , and the street is under construction so the area doesn’t look good at all ."

25 Best Restaurants in Miami Beach for Every Budget and Ocassion
Excellent tacos, great quesadillas, even better margaritas—these are the things that win my heart. Add to the fact that this location is right across from the beach (and casual enough to show up with sand on your flip-flops), and you have a place destined to rank among your favorites. Try this: An order of the crispy, chewy nixtamalized blue corn tortillas, which are ground fresh daily in-house and pair perfectly with the chunky guac.
Where To Eat After The Beach In Miami - Miami
If you’d like to chat over tacos and margaritas without needing to make a reservation or worry about what to wear, Taquiza is a great place to do it. The North Beach taco shop is very casual, has outdoor tables close enough to the beach that you can feel the ocean breeze, and solid tacos. But the best order here is actually the squash blossom quesadilla and the totopos, which are the Michael Jordan of Miami's tortilla chips.
The 40 best restaurants in Miami
Dubbed the “Casa de Masa,” this beachfront Mexican spot is known for its signature blue masa tortillas and pared-down, street-style tacos. Why we love it: Taquiza keeps it simple, with a high-quality base that doesn’t need much to help it shine. In fact, it might shock some people that the tacos here are really only stuffed with meat—think al pastor and carne asada—and topped with a sprinkling of fresh onions and cilantro, with ample sauces on the side.
The Top 100 Restaurants in Miami for 2025
No one told Taquiza's Steve Santana to undertake the painstaking process of turning corn to masa to produce his own tortillas. No one demanded those tortillas be filled with the slightly spicy, charred poblano strips called rajas or the tangy corn fungus known as huitlacoche. Yet after stints with Jeremiah Bullfrog and at Giorgio Rapicavoli's Eating House, the computer programmer turned chef decided it had to be done.
