What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
St. Paul Fish Company is celebrated for its exceptionally fresh seafood, with the lobster roll and oysters being standout favorites. Reviewers consistently praise the quality and reasonable pricing, especially within the bustling Milwaukee Public Market. While the casual atmosphere and market location are appreciated, potential diners should be aware of possible wait times during peak hours, though many find the wait well worth it for the delicious offerings.
"The food is amazing! Full of flavor, great sauces, it's hot, and we have zero complaints. Halibut was amazing! Shark Bites amazing! Kids fried cod needed a little more flavor but it's for kids so probably better for them. 20 minute wait but was provided a buzzer which was strong enough to visit the entire market while waiting. I wanted to go to a fancy fish restaurant but after we had this, it was more then half the price of the fancy restaurant and so delicious! Very reasonable priced and highly recommend the 20 minute wait!"

"St. Paul Fish Company is truly an amazing restaurant! I ordered takeout and ate upstairs—the place was very busy and crowded, but even so, I was impressed by how quickly the food came out without any issues. The lobster roll was generous and delicious, and the price was very reasonable. I had been debating for a while on where to eat, and I’m so glad I chose this spot. I left completely satisfied and would definitely recommend it!"

"Visiting from Melbourne, Australia and this is my second time here. When in Milwaukee and enjoy seafood, St. Paul Fish Company is a must. Nestled inside the Milwaukee Public Market, this place is what seafood lovers dream about—fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. But be warned: the word is out, and this spot is popular. Expect a bit of a wait during peak hours, but trust me, it's time well spent. You can either people-watch, admire the seafood counter, or plan your dessert strategy for later (pro tip: you will want dessert and I cannot recommend the Freesies chocolate on site).
Now, let’s talk food. The clam chowder and Maine Lobster roll so delicious you’ll be dunking every last piece of bread into it like it's your job.
St. Paul strikes that perfect balance between casual and top-tier quality. The staff knows their seafood, and you can taste the care they put into every dish. It’s a place that makes you want to linger, even after you’ve cleared your plate. And since you're at the Public Market, you can grab a chocolates and sausages and more seafood on your way out—because, let’s be honest, you’re going to wish you had more when you get home.
Final verdict? If you’re in Milwaukee and don’t eat at St. Paul Fish Company, you’re doing the city wrong."
