Once the North Loop location took off, Rabbit opened a second location on St. Paul’s Grand Avenue in 2018. Everything on the menu is amazing, but the Spicy Salami pizza is probably the most-ordered pie, with chilis, ricotta, and honey.

With several Minneapolis locations and a special Palace Theater partnership in St. Paul, Wrecktangle has been very busy perfecting Detroit-style pizzas over the past few years. They even won Good Morning America's “Best Pizza in the U.S.” competition in early 2023, beating out popular spots from Philadelphia, New York, Atlanta and Chicago. One of their most popular pies is the Shredder, topped with pepperoni, pickled jalapeño, whipped Cry Baby Craig’s honey, and pecorino romano cheese.

Red Rabbit makes some of my favorite pizza in the Twin Cities—the chewy Neapolitan-style crust is perfection, and the toppings are thoughtful and high-quality. The menu features pizzas, pastas, sandwiches, salads, cocktail kits, and take-and-bake family-style entrees. We thoroughly enjoyed our pizzas: a cheese pizza with a nice balance of mozzarella, fontina, and Parmesan, and a sausage pizza featuring a zesty housemade sausage, charred scallions, and fennel pollen.

With a menu packed full of delicious Italian classics like Chicken Parmesan, pappardelle bolognese, and fettucine alfredo, it’s not all that surprising that Red Rabbit rocks some of the best pizza in the cities. What is surprising is the types of pizzas that stand out in this otherwise classic menu. We’re huge fans of the PBJ pizza (that’s pineapple, bacon, and jalapeno) and breakfast pizza (topped with a runny egg, because why not?)

When I passed by it in high school, I pictured it as more of an Italian-American sports bar than I did a restaurant. I’ve never been so happy to be so wrong. Seven years later, I finally made it to Red Rabbit, and I loved every second of it.

A casual neighborhood gathering spot, Red Rabbit is especially popular before a Twins game. The menu stars pizza, pasta and other Italian-influenced dishes. There is also a full bar with a deep and long cocktail menu worth diving into.

Which is why it’s so nice that Red Rabbit’s happy hour runs Tuesdays through Fridays, starting at the still-working-hours hour of 2 pm, when glasses of wine run $6. That makes Red Rabbit our best wine destination for work meetings.
