Reviews Summary

This family-run restaurant offers a classic Montauk experience with a beautiful harbor view and lively atmosphere, often featuring live music. While many praise the fresh seafood, particularly the oysters and clam chowder, and the friendly staff, some reviews mention inconsistent food quality and issues with service or management. It remains a popular spot for its ambiance and location, though occasional dining disappointments are noted.

"Went MDW at night so wish I could’ve tried more food but was stuffed . Fish &chips and chowder are amazing ! Great staff. When there’s live music it’s a little too loud but overall a great experience"

"Amazing seafood restaurant located in Montauk. Sarah was our server. Very friendly and personable. She answered all our questions and was very patient with us. My wife had the frogmore stew. I had the tilefish. We also had oysters and clams. If you like seafood this is one if not the best. I met Phil. He is one of the owners. . Also very nice.. another person we met was Tanner. He had a fresh catch of lobsters in a basket and let us hold a lobster. You need to go here. Highly recommend."

"The oysters were good. The drinks were ok even though they were not what we ordered.
Beware they will seat you at 4pm when their kitchen closes and tell you it's OK to get appetizers and wait for dinner at 5pm but that is not the case.
The hostess came over to tell us that we could not stay and we must have misunderstood him. This was not the case. She was rude and condescending and for that reason as well as the fried calamari being frozen and oily, I do not recommend this restaurant."

Breakfast in Montauk

An old school restaurant recently acquired by the Clam and Chowder House at Westlake Marina. For lunch and dinner, it's all about the raw oysters, sushi, fish sandwiches and burgers, but grab breakfast here for classic egg sandwiches, pancakes, oatmeal, and the Hook, Line, & Sinker, which is a bacon cheeseburger atop a hash brown with one over easy egg on top. "It is so good, because the food they serve is based on the environment they are in and they stick to their roots."FED Pro > Chef Gray Gardell-Gross (The Gig Shack)
