"I love this restaurant! My hotel was across the street and I wanted to enjoy something with some flair. This place moves to its own beat. I was greeted by the server who allowed me to sit wherever I chose. I was offered the daily special to which I ordered the main lobster bisque and the calamari. I paired that with a cider which was in my opinion a great choice I enjoyed this Pub because you have to go downstairs in a basement. They have an outside patio if you prefer. The restaurant is fashioned behind a quaint British pub and is filled with antiquities you would find in a ship house. The staff was warm and inviting and the food was hot and fresh. I definitely enjoyed coming here and it's definitely a must if you're in Monterey."

"My wife and I spent 4 nights and 5 days in Monterey. We ate at Crown and Anchor three of those nights. Michael was our server the first night. He made great suggestions and is a human being with a great spirit. We had clam chowder all three nights (yum). We highly recommend the Cottage Pie, Fish and Chips, Sand Dabs, and Spicy Meatloaf. The atmosphere is awesome and the service is top notch. Cheers."

It opened in 1998 and has been voted the best pub in Monterey County Weekly for 19 years.
