Reviews Summary

Acme Lowcountry Kitchen is highly praised for its exceptional shrimp and grits and friendly Southern hospitality. Diners rave about the relaxed atmosphere and generous portions, making it a must-visit. While most experiences are overwhelmingly positive, a few reviews suggest that while the food is good, it may not always reach extraordinary heights for the price point.

"We can't in for Brunch today for the first time and I was blown away by how Amazing everything was. I had The Isle of palms. Blackened shrimp & sausage over The Truffled cheese grits. It was bursting with absolutely amazing flavor and hands down the best grits I have ever eaten!!! Just Wow💜💜 Highly recommend. I also had a Cocktail called the pain killer, delicious! And the Staff were so friendly and just a wonderful experience all around."

Renae Singer

"Acme Lowcountry Kitchen absolutely blew me away. I’ve had shrimp and grits all over the South, but nothing compares to what they serve here — hands down the best I’ve ever had in my life. Their shrimp are also local, Perfectly cooked shrimp, creamy grits, and flavors that hit every note just right. It’s the kind of dish that makes you pause mid-bite and just appreciate the moment.

The staff was equally impressive — warm, attentive, and genuinely pleasant. You can tell they care about the food and the people. The whole vibe is relaxed but polished, and it made for an unforgettable meal. Acme is awesome"

Paul Tilex

"If you are looking for a casual spot with delicious food, Acme is a great choice. We did a walk in with 7 people and were seated right away. The servers were very friendly. This place is known for their shrimp and grits and I understand why. They have 6 different variations of their signature dish so definitely something for everyone. I went with the Isle of Palms shrimp and grits and it was DELICIOUS. I am still thinking about the blackened shrimp. We also ordered the fried green tomatoes which were also a hit!"

Although the original Pinckney house and outbuildings of Snee Farm no longer stand, the existing 1828 farmhouse that remains today and the surviving outbuildings tell the story of agrarian patterns of South Carolina’s Lowcountry from the mid-17th to the late-20th century. With the house as a backdrop, and because no physical structures from Pinckney ownership of the property remain, the National Park Service emphasizes discoveries from archeological investigations to tangibly connect the Pinckneys to Snee Farm and to provide evidence of the cultural environment that influenced Pinckney and the first decades of the United States as a young nation.
