"Charlie Palmer steak in Archer hotel in Napa is a great restaurant but I wouldn’t call it a “steakhouse”. As a local, I’ve been here several times over the last five years for both breakfast and dinner. The restaurant layout is comfortable, In fact pretty casual. The service here has always been top-notch, but there has been a few changes over the years and I understand the margins are narrow but the food quality has gone down. I particularly noticed that for the tomahawk steaks. We came for Christmas dinner where they also offered prime rib as part of the Christmas set menu ($85). What I found strange is the meat quality of the prime rib was the same as a tomahawk and ribeye. It was very lean with no flavor. It is unlike any other Tomahawks I’ve had here over the years. I can only conclude that the quality of the meat for the steaks has changed. There’s no marbling , no flavor and I get seasoning is always to taste, but it was bland. Some other changes include a $45 corkage fee even for wines from Napa before it was no charge if the wine you brought was from Napa. There’s also a fee for bread service. As far as ambience, if you’re sitting to the right in the area of the lobby, the lights above are so bright that it just takes away from the ambience and the intimacy of dinner and makes it more like a cafeteria. The cream spinach was just too thick and soggy.
Sadly, we cancelled our dinner plans for New Year’s Eve dinner here because I don’t trust the inconsistency of the food. I do hope they re-look their protein supply and bring back to greatness their steaks. I probably won’t return."

"I had such a wonderful experience at the lounge at Archer Hotel Napa, thanks to our amazing lounge server Jose. He was incredibly friendly, attentive, and made our evening feel extra special. He brought us several wines to sample, which we truly appreciated, and was so patient with us as we took our time deciding which bottle to get. He even brought out a chilled ice bucket to keep our wine perfectly cool—such a thoughtful touch! His service felt genuine and elevated the whole experience. Thank you for making our visit so memorable—we’ll definitely be back!"
