The interior decor offers a calming blend of marble and a soothing pastel colors, but the real winner is the menu. For those who prefer to keep their brunch light, the roze bowl or coconut yogurt topped with Julia’s granola might appeal, but for those with a heartier appetite, the country ham toast or a hearty egg sandwich with Gifford’s bacon, tomato jam, and avocado will almost certainly guarantee satisfaction.

Cafe Roze is a bright, airy spot that’s a nice choice for an intimate (read: small) weekend brunch, an effortless Thursday lunch, or a light Monday night dinner. The breakfast menu has some tasty selections that veer into crunchy LA territory, like ginger mango smoothies, sipping broth, and bowls of beet tahini, turmeric eggs, and lentils, but there are also smashburgers and stout waffles on there because, you know, balance. If the morning’s gotten away from you, lunch and dinner are tasty too, especially if you order the paprika chicken or pork milanese.

It’s a bit off the beaten path, but the commute is well worth it. They have healthier vegetable options but only one thing will cure your hangover: the Smashburger. Please note that this is a smaller venue, so make sure you book in advance.

This hip yet low-key spot was great for a spontaneous dinner. I’ll be wishing for the smoked trout dip and steak and frites. Both were excellent and among the best eats we enjoyed in Nashville.
