What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Diners consistently praise Coquette for its inventive Southern cuisine and excellent craft cocktails, set within a charming Garden District ambiance. While many rave about the unique flavor combinations and attentive service, some reviews mention inconsistency in execution and slower service during busy periods.
"Fabulous experience at Coquette last night! We tried a bunch of dishes and overall enjoyed them a lot. Highlights included: smoke trout roe atop an onion dip with homemade chips, shrimp chitarra pasta (spicy), and the red snapper. The cocktails we tried were also EXCELLENT. Only notes we had were that the apple salad begged for some lettuce for bulk and mouth feel, and the sweet potato pie dessert lacked a crunch to the crust. Would definitely recommend and go back."
Benjamin Hammer
"This was a cozy restaurant with good food and inventive cocktails. The food was good, but felt like it was missing that ‘something’ to bump it to great. The signature cocktails were definitely new and used combos you don’t see elsewhere. The service was okay. The server was nice, but they seemed understaffed for a Friday night. We ended up waiting 20 minutes for dessert to come after ordering. Given the competition in NOLA, there are other places that hit all the boxes."
Karen Frye
"This restaurant lives up to the hype. It's worth making a reservation and spending an evening here trying different dishes. The bread with fresh butter is a great start. The peach & coppa is an explosion of flavors. The smoky peppers give it a real kick and the sweet peaches and prosciutto balance well. The blue crab gnocchi is delicious. The smoked short ribs are perfectly cooked. We finished with pannacotta and peaches. We loved everything we ordered!"

Best Food in New Orleans for Delivery & Takeout: Where to Order From Now
The Coquette team has been serving up family-style meals since the shutdown began, including fried chicken and peel-and-eat shrimp -- but you have to have something to wash it all down. At present, the city has still nixed takeout cocktail sales, so pick up a pre-mixed batch of Bloody Mary or margarita mix for your quarantine cocktail hour. Cost: $10 for the batch cocktails, $15 for the peel-and-eat shrimp, and $40 for a fried chicken dinner for 3-4 people, which includes pickles, ranch, hot sauce, and two pints of sides.
