Anna and Steve Papa started a family tradition with a small pizzeria and sub shop on Block Island. Baking and cooking has long been a family tradition, starting with Anna’s father, Aldo, and her mother Maria, who helped develop the idea of the Block Island’s first pizzeria. As the family grew, the restaurant grew with it is now, Aldo’s Pizzeria and Italian Restaurant on Block Island has been serving delicious Italian Specialties since 1977!.

A balanced meal is a cookie in each hand – or ice cream… Aldo’s offers a yummy selection of sorbet as well as dairy-free soft serve ice cream with a choice of chocolate, banana, black raspberry and mango. Unfortunately, no pastries are egg and dairy-free. If you’re got a hankering for something more substantial, head over to the B.I.G.for some cinnamon rolls, Oreos or entire tubs of dairy-free ice cream (sometimes even Ben & Jerry’s).

Both mopeds and bikes can be rented through Aldo’s or Island Moped which are located right next to one another in town. Day rates are $115 for mopeds and $20 for bicycles. If you book ahead of time and arrive on the Montauk Ferry which docks in the New Harbor both companies will arrange transportation to town for your rental.

Aldo’s is one of the most popular spots on the island for anything and everything Italian food. It was Block Island’s first pizzeria in 1977, and is still going strong to this day. This family owned restaurant went from selling pizza and subs, to offering a wide variety of fine Italian and seafood.

For some delicious Italian, including wood-fired pizza, head to Aldo’s. The seafood and produce are fresh and locally sourced, laying the perfect foundation for a delicious meal out on the town.
