Stoneacre Garden’s bright orange exterior is anything but subtle with oversized illuminated marquee letters spelling out F-U-N. The coastal carnival vibe at the considerably more playful cousin to Stoneacre’s flagship Brasserie restaurant permeates multiple dining spaces including a breezy rooftop terrace overlooking Newport Harbor, a striped canopied back patio with “bocce & bubbles” (a bocce court with a libation hut) and a cavernous dining room anchored by a center bar where greenery spills over the sides of suspended trellises. The menu takes its cue from Asian flavor but infuses a modern flair throughout dinner, lunch and brunch.

As implied by the name, Stoneacre Garden embraces everything lush and green, including its rooftop, which offers a picture-perfect view of the sunset over Newport Harbor where you can indulge in a farm-to-table brunch, lunch, or dinner. A brand-new bar pours everything from sparkling wines to signature cocktails, even a dedicated mocktail list. Plus, the plethora of plant life and tucked-away location will have you forgetting you’re in the middle of a tourist’s playground.

From the owners of Stoneacre Brasserie in Newport's Washington Square comes the new Stoneacre Garden located in Swinburne Row (the old Barking Crab if you remember the days). The design is inspired by the gardens and grounds of the Stoneacre Estate, with a cheerful yellow and red awning reminiscent of a circus tent from days gone by. Your whimsical al fresco experience comes adorned in lush greenery hung from the outdoor awning.

Stoneacre Garden which took over the space that the Barking Crab occupied for years opened in 2021 and expects a big 2021 summer. The local restaurant group dubs it “Our newest restaurant, Stoneacre Garden, is inspired by the gardens and grounds of the Stoneacre Estate, designed by America’s first Landscape Architect, Frederick Law Olmsted.” It features brunches, bento boxes, and an eclectic dinner offering.

Stoneacre Garden, 151 Swinburne Row, Newport, (401) 619-8400, is from the talented folks that started with their tiny pantry and now occupy the former Yesterday's space with their elegant Stoneacre Brasserie. Stoneacre Garden welcomes with the word FUN in lights as you drive by on America's Cup Avenue. Be warned though, you want to enter from the patio on the other side of the restaurant on Swinburne Row.

At Stoneacre Garden, dogs are welcome on the large patio and on the ground level - a perfect option in inclement weather. Asian-inspired dishes like General Tso’s Cauliflower, miso Caesar salad and a duck for two with steamed buns are served for dinner, along with sushi, plus dedicated brunch and lunch menus. Sip beer or cocktails and play a round of bocce under the garden lights.

With its whimsical circus-colored canopy shading the back patio and refreshing Narragansett Bay breeze wafting throughout the restaurant, the setting puts you instantly at ease.

One of the newest sushi offerings in Newport comes from Stoneacre Garden, which opened in 2020. Rock & Roll Thursdays which feature live music plus sushi specials have proven to be a big hit with locals.
