Since this bar opened a few years ago it’s been one of my favorite Oklahoma City bars!. After trying out a few new ones on this last trip, it is still the tried and true. The digestif was great, but the atmosphere was on a scale I hadn’t even seen in my home city of Chicago. Elsewhere, I was similarly dazzled by the scene (and the caramelized plantains) at Cafe Kacao, the finger-licking fried chicken at Eischen’s and the views from Vast.

I recently had an incredible brunch experience at The Jones Assembly in downtown Oklahoma City. Went there for the last free bingo of the season, which was an absolute blast. The staff, both servers and bartenders, were exceptional—polite, quick, and very friendly.

Some of my favorite places in the Plaza District are Oak and Ore (craft brewery), the Mule (the fried cheese curds are little nuggets of pure joy), and Empire Slice House (the best pizza by the slice. Not a day goes by that I don’t think of their za).
