The Mule- Also located in the Plaza District- The inside of the restaurant can get a little crowded, especially if you’re dining with multiple high chairs, but there is a good patio in the front that looks onto 16th street. It’s great for those little ones that like to point out all the buses and trucks that pass by…not that we’d know anything about that 😉

The Mule is a small joint in the Plaza district known for their hot melts. (Basically fancy grilled cheese sandwiches.) These are not the grilled cheeses you grew up with!. My personal favorite is the Fancy Pants (roasted chicken, Brie, pesto, etc.).

Vienna wheat, cashew cheese, roasted beets, mushrooms, sun-dried tomatoes, avocado, grilled jalapenos, grilled onions, and chipotle aioli. I was tempted to order this just to make sure I got all my veggies, but that mac n cheese was calling my name!

I was excited to find this spot as it wasn’t on any of my radars. In fact, I better add it to Happy Cow so others can know about it. The Mule is located in the Plaza District which is one of the best neighborhoods to go to in OKC for street art.

Always vegetarian-friendly, the Mule’s delicious tomato soup is vegetarian. Their soup isn’t the overly sweet tomato soup other places may serve. It is savory, super tasty, and on the menu every day.

The Mule is not all vegan or even close but they have a vegan sandwich!. All you have to do is ask them to cook it in oil instead of butter.
