Elsewhere, I was similarly dazzled by the scene (and the caramelized plantains) at Cafe Kacao, the finger-licking fried chicken at Eischen’s and the views from Vast. I was at once mesmerized and perplexed at how an American city like this could exist — so robust and metropolitan, yet so humbly under-the-radar. After a quick trip back to the hotel to freshen up, we began our progressive dinner at Vast, a restaurant and bar located atop OKC's tallest building. I began to notice that Okie's (Oklahoma locals), know how to make a good cocktail. Almost every specialty drink we ordered throughout the trip was not only unique, but delicious.

We saw alligator leather plates, ate world class crème brûlée, and observed Oklahoma City from above. Again, the team was lucky enough to receive a particularly special building tour. Not open to the immediate public, the Chicken Prairie House designed by Bruce Goff and located in Norman, Oklahoma was open exclusively for us.
