What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
The Drover is a beloved Omaha steakhouse, celebrated for its signature whiskey-marinated steaks, cozy rustic ambiance, and classic sides like the loaded baked potato and salad bar. Many patrons praise the tender, perfectly cooked meats and attentive service. However, some find the experience to be somewhat dated or overpriced, with occasional remarks about the whiskey flavor being subtle or the steak not meeting expectations.
"Food, service, and atmosphere was all 5 stars!! They started off with greeting and a big loaf of bread, then talked about their menu. Steak came out pretty quick, and while you wait you can give yourself a green start with salad bar.
I ordered a wiskey ribeye and my girlfriend got a NY Strip. They both were very tender, with my ribeye having wonderful marvels with extra battery flavor, both cooked to perfection. Taste of wiskey is not strong, and tenderness of the steak was just unbelievable. Will for sure be back soon"

"This is a quintessential Omaha steak house. The lighting is dim, the atmosphere is cozy, the staff is fast, friendly and knowledgeable, and the steaks are cooked to perfection. The drink service was right on top of us which was great. The onion rings appetizer had a unique and delicious peppery taste. The salad bar is just fine and the Whiskey Steaks are superb. This place has been in business for a long time for a reason!"

"I love how simple the menu is. I feel like that’s when you know it’s going to be good. I had the Whiskey Ribeye with a loaded baked potato and salad. Steak was delicious and cooked a perfect medium rare. The baked potato was wonderful and had just the right amount of toppings. You got to go to the salad bar to make your own and everything was fresh. Our waitress was nice but I wouldn’t have minded her making it over to the table a bit more. I like to drink a lot of waters/Diet Coke and found myself waiting a bit to get refills. Other than that she did well. The atmosphere is very relaxing. Dimmed warm yellow lights and a cozy bar. Highly recommend trying but make a reservation if you can, especially on the weekends."
