What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Diners rave about Kaya's innovative Filipino cuisine, highlighting fresh, local ingredients and impeccable service that creates a culturally immersive experience. While the elevated pricing is noted, the quality of ingredients and the unique flavors justify the cost for many. The funky and whimsical ambiance further enhances the overall dining experience, making it a standout destination.
"What an amazing experience! The hype is real at this modern Filipino resturant and I could not recommend it enough.
First, the food. Exquisite, fresh, locally harvest ingredients. This is everything you could ask for with any restaurant. The oxtail and lumpia were my personal favorites, but the wings are on a whole another dimension of amazing and are a MUST order. You will NOT regret it.
The staff and service? Too notch. Friendly, inviting, and very observant. Hats off too the owners and staff for a excellent job.
The atmosphere is also amazing. A outdoor area that is very cozy for dining, the inside very open and modern.
I can definitely say this restaurant is on my top 10 places in the entire central Florida area. We WILL return, sooner than later.
Thanks Kaya!"

"My favorite part about my experience here was that I felt like I was being brought into Filipino culture for the night. The staff was so kind and helped educate us on everything that we were being served and how it was prepared. All of the food was to die for! Our favorites were the mushroom dish and the dessert. We were recommending the additional juice pairing, and this helped enhance our experience. This dinner taught us a lot about Filipino culture and cuisine! I would love to come back sometime soon!"

"If I could give it 7 stars I would!!! I saw them on instagram and as a “professional” foodie i added to the list of places i give to my hubby. Well he decided to book reservations for our anniversary and it did not disappoint.
First off, this is clearly meant to be a small but comfortable restaurant and with every dish being made to order, there can be delays.
We didn’t haven’t any and please don’t come here and ask for gluten free, go eat grass for that. Anyways on to the food.
Everything was divine, amazing ingredients and plated phenomenally. Harlow and Daniel made the experience even better with their well timed service and fantastic recommendations. Try everything and yes it has elevated pricing but for those level of ingredients you will pay more. If I had to go to the grocery store and buy the same, it would be just as pricey. The decor was eclectic and homely. The drinks definitely triggered new taste buds and the dessert heightened childhood nostalgia! The post dinner towelettes were the perfect final touch."

Restaurants in Orlando
A hip space nestled in a former private house off Colonial Drive, Kaya gives traditional dishes from throughout the 7,000 islands of the Philippines inventive new angles. Though pricey, the "five-wave Sama Sama Tasting Menu" is truly memorable—what should be a standard dish, the yam noodle pancit, becomes extraordinary, and California long-grain sushi rice is transformed into a revelatory fried-garlic-infused plate with locally grown squash, eggplant, and lion’s mane and oyster mushrooms. Indeed, chef Lordfer Lalicon, who honed his craft at the famed Blue Hill at Stone Farms, takes local sourcing very seriously.

Filipino cuisine doesn’t catch the spotlight nearly as often as Thai, Vietnamese, and other Asian cuisines. So we love that there’s a delicious spot to try it at this casual restaurant in Orlando’s Mills 50 neighborhood. By the same owners as Japanese heavy hitter, Kadence, Kaya blends fresh Florida ingredients with the owners’ love for Filipino food in a menu that changes daily and might feature dishes like mung bean noodles with mushroom jus, pork belly sliders with puto cakes (steamed rice cakes) and adobo risotto.

No one will give you the side eye here for wearing a T-shirt, but it is the type of place where you need a reservation. Come here for a nicer date night and focus on the chef’s nightly menu: five courses that might include adobo with local mushrooms or fried fish sinigang in a clay pot whose lid, coated with tamarind miso paste, becomes the bowl. If you can’t get in, they do reserve a couple of tables for walk-ins where you can order a la carte and have Happy Hour specials Tuesday through Thursday from 6-7pm.

While the owners of Kaya will tell you themselves that this isn’t a spot offering the most traditional Filipino dishes, it is heavily influenced by “bringing the food closest to our hearts while infusing our experiences, creativity, and warm hospitality to expand the love of Filipino food and culture.” You’ll see items like pancit that you will recognize, but this elevated but comfortable menu is worth visiting.
