Reviews Summary

Diners rave about The Monroe's upscale comfort food and chic, artistic atmosphere. The fried chicken and waffles, cinnamon rolls, and chocolate cake are frequently highlighted as must-try dishes. While service is generally praised for its attentiveness, some reviews mention occasional slowness.

"Cute little place. Prices are fair for what you get. The cinnamon roll was delicious, the biscuits and gravy were very good but I can always use a little gravy. My only issue with them was they were topped with sea salt and it overpowered the entire dish making it very salty. Flavor on point but hard to ignore the salt.

I got the shrimp and grits. A dish I get many places, it wasn't bad by any means but nothing really stood out. The shrimp themselves have quite a kick and its served with some hot peppers, they say its a bit spicy but I think its a bit understated as I like spice and had to take the peppers off the plate. Grits cooked perfect the sauce was different but a very nice sweet take to compliment the heat so all in all not terrible but for over 20 bucks I would likely try a different dish"

"My wife and I, along with a group of friends (6 total), had brunch at The Monroe. Upon arrival for our reservation, we were warmly greeted by the hostess. The vibe was relaxed and welcoming, with a modern, comfortable atmosphere.

I ordered the shrimp and grits, while my wife went with the chicken and waffles. The shrimp and grits not only looked amazing but delivered on flavor — creamy, well-seasoned grits paired with perfectly cooked shrimp and just the right amount of spice.

The chicken and waffles were equally impressive. The Belgian waffles were crisp on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside, and the chicken was tender, moist, and perfectly crispy. Every bite was packed with flavor.

The dessert cinnamon bun is a must try."

"Came for brunch. Beautiful interior with mixed mediums for design! Very warm & welcoming, caught myself talking with the barista for a bit, she was incredibly kind. Service was pretty prompt, it was a full restaurant and we were never left waiting too long for anything. Everything we ordered had layers of flavor, with the cinnamon roll being a show stopper, being one of the best in recent memory. The biscuits & gravy and the chicken & waffles (amazing waffles) are also very worthy of mention. Overall amazing experience, highly recommend for brunch"

The Infatuation

The 25 Best Restaurants In Orlando - Orlando

The Monroe does excellent, upscale comfort food dishes that go heavy on nostalgia in a loungey space that’s like a more upscale version of the Brady Bunch’s living room. Go for the crispy cauliflower as an appetizer, then double down on the fried chicken with skin that’s just the right level of crunchy before desserts like an ice-cream-topped brownie. This spot has a different vibe during the morning and afternoon, when it’s a coffee shop filled with college students studying and corporate types grabbing lunch.
