Our first visit to Parnell's Place. I ordered the 4 piece roasted chicken, my dinner date ordered the king prime rib dinner. Our server was very friendly and easy going, timely with refilling our drinks as well. Food was served in a fair amount of time. The chicken was crispy and hot! Just what I was looking forward to. The broasted potatoes were good and no heavy breading or batter to over complicate them. My companion ordered the sweet potato tots and they were delicious especially with the sweet butter served with them. The entrees were very good, and we would definitely visit again. But the best part? The slaw lol we are picky about our slaw lol can't be too sweet or too sour- it has to be just right to meet our salad standard LOL this slaw was perfect! Just enough sweet and just enough tang in the light dressing, and celery seed in it as well.
The weather the evening of our visit was warm for Dec 28- high temp of 47* and sunny. My regular body temp runs warm to sweating. I took a light jacket with me and I was comfortable in their dining room."

Parnell’s Place is a family-owned and operated restaurant that has been serving great tasting Midwestern favorites since 1974. Originally named Poor Mel’s, the tavern was purchased by Denny and Sue Hughes and renamed Parnell’s Place. In 1989, Tim Hughes and his wife Cory took over the business and expanded it, adding a kitchen and expanding the dining room to create a food destination that has stood the test of time.
