I ordered the burnt end sandwich, which I was looking forward to, but it turned out to be brisket rather than the traditional burnt ends. Despite this little surprise, I wasn’t disappointed—quite the opposite, actually. The brisket was tender, flavorful, and had just the right amount of smokiness. It might not have been what I expected, but it was really good and definitely satisfied my barbecue cravings.
What really made the experience stand out was the consistency across the board. Every single person in our group of eight loved their orders, which ranged from ribs to pulled pork and beyond. It’s rare to find a place where everyone’s plate is a winner, but 1886 Grill Smokehouse pulled it off.
On top of the great food, the service was equally impressive. The staff was friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed without being intrusive. It’s clear they take pride in both the food they serve and the experience they offer.
Overall, 1886 Grill Smokehouse is a must-visit, whether you’re finishing up a round of golf or just in the mood for some solid barbecue."

Prices are reasonable, staff is great and super friendly and responsive, food is really good. It is next to the new pool area so it is very relaxing sitting under an umbrella and listening to the waterfall. If you're staying at homestead or nearby, or if you are golfing, this is worth the stop instead of driving in to town."

Just outside the Utah Crater, at the Homestead Farm Resort, overlooking the golf course is another lovely outdoor patio. Since Zermatt Resort and Spa is just across the road, while our kids (teenagers) continued to enjoy the games back at the resort, my husband and I went on our first ever "within-vacation" date. We had a couple of cocktails and appetizers at the 1886 Grill and Smokehouse and enjoyed the sweet, sweet serenity.
