Reviews Summary
Purple Sage is lauded for its exceptional American Western cuisine, with standout dishes like the chicken fried chicken and braised short ribs. Diners praise the cozy, rustic atmosphere and attentive service, though some note minor issues with specific side dishes or the wine list. Overall, it's considered a must-visit for a refined yet comforting dining experience in Park City.
"I ordered the chicken fried chicken and it was perfectly crispy and juicy. The chorizo gravy had just a little bit of kick with great Mexican flavor. I substituted the green beans for the carrots and was not impressed by the carrots, they were undercooked to my liking and had minimal honey flavor. The cast iron potatoes were also phenomenal. Great dish!
My wife ordered the braised short ribs which were also very good. The ribs were juicy and had a ton of flavor with the sauce on top. The whipped cauliflower added some yummy creaminess to the dish. We weren’t disappointed.
Also, the bread they brought out was super good! For two people, this was a very filling meal."

"⭐️Food: 10/10
⭐️Service: Exceptional
⭐️Atmosphere: clean, rustic, unique
⭐️Value: Would drive over an hour to eat here no question! Comfort food with an elevated twist.
We love Purple Sage! It's about an hour's drive from Park City, and we will make the drive just to eat there. The food is always incredible. The flavors are rich and unique, and every bite leaves you wanting more! The atmosphere is cozy and inviting and has that perfect blend of rustic charm and comfort. We especially love sitting on the patio when it’s warmer weather.
We usually go during their summer menu for our anniversary, and it never disappoints—the dishes are always creative, fresh, and packed with flavor. The Butternut Squash Ravioli is something I CRAVE throughout the year.😆 I’m not sure if they still have it but the Green Chile Queso is another must-order for us. Can’t wait to go back! 👏🏼"

"My meal was fantastic and everyone elses but two in our group of nine was happy with their food. They both ordered grits and were surprised and not in a good way. The color and texture was off-putting. The lighting was pretty dim but gave an intimate vibe. The waitress could've been more attentive but she was fine."

Housed in the historic Rocky Mountain Bell telephone building, Purple Sage (434 Main Street) is known for being one of the first in the area to feature regional food, with the bold, rustic, spicy flavors of the American West. While the veal meatloaf remains the house specialty, expect to find other tantalizing dishes on their seasonal menus. Try the grilled Mexican white shrimp, served atop golden griddled polenta cakes and drizzled with chipotle creamed leek sauce.
Hot Stews and Soups in Cool Places
Purple Sage’s menu adds a little spice to classic southwestern American fare. The Green Chili Pork Stew, a closely guarded family recipe, is mild enough for flatlanders, but has enough kick for seasoned maverick palates. “Another favorite is the Roasted Red Pepper and Balsamic Vinegar Reduction Soup,” says owner Travis Axtell, “and it’s the one that gets the most recipe requests.” 434 Main St., 435-655-9505
