What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
The Eating Establishment is a long-standing Park City institution praised for its hearty, all-day breakfast and friendly atmosphere. Diners appreciate the cozy vibe and unique menu items. However, some reviews mention high prices for the portion sizes and occasional inconsistencies in service.
"Our first stop in Park City and was recommended by family. We shared the Hungry Miner skillet and it was very filling for both of us since we had a light breakfast and coffees before the hour drive. This place had a cozy vibe and I imagine its popping during the evenings and weekends. We went on a weekday morning and most of the main street was very quiet but I loved the quiet vibes of this restaurant in the morning."

"The Shakshouka was certainly nothing like what it is meant to be. It was fried eggs and not poached eggs in a sauce of tomatoes and peppers. The whole dish was some sort a potato and tomatoes stew with fried eggs on top. Way too many potatoes.
The burger was average. The fries and the drinks were good.
We ordered hot Toddy which was good and the Margarita was customised to my taste. The serving staff was friendly, warm and attentive."

"This was definitely worth it. Food did not disappoint. Service was friendly and quick. We were worried it was gonna be a tourist trap but we were pleasantly surprised to find it to be absolutely delicious! Definitely come here!!"

Brunch & Breakfast Restaurants in Park City
Housed in a brick building on Main Street, this longstanding downtown restaurant is an institution in Park City. The restaurant opened in 1972 and is the oldest continuously operating restaurant in Park City. Start with a glass of fresh-squeezed orange juice, followed by house specialties like the skillet potatoes topped with eggs and cheese, veggie Benedict and fruit and cream-filled crepes.
Where to Eat, Stay, and Play in Park City
The Eating Establishment is the go-to for all-day breakfast and diner classics. Yuki Yama has super-fresh sushi while Old Town Cellars is great for a more subdued wine bar vibe. On the Deer Valley side, don’t miss the St. Regis’s cocktail lounge (the outdoor firepit has great views of the valley) or its pop-up yurt village for après ski Champagne with foie gras and osetra caviar.
Where to Eat in Park City and/or Alta?
In Park City my favorite "reasonable" place is The Eating Establishment" on Main Street. My favorite expensive place (so far) is Grappa at the top of Main Street. In Deer Valley it's Glitretind at Stein's.
Park City - Utah
Eating Establishment holds the distinction of being the oldest restaurant in town (it first opened in 1972); consequently, the vibe is a little more low-key than some of the other restaurants on Main Street, with a cozy fireplace in the back and a diner-style menu that serves breakfast all day long. When new ownership bought the place last year, they upgraded it with a new bar (which serves excellent cocktails), so it's a good après spot, too. Any time of day, the classic order is the Miner's Dawn Skillet: a mix of potatoes, onions, and cheese, topped with over-easy eggs, which has been on the menu since the '70s.

Eating EstablishmentOpened in 1972, The Eating Establishment has been a much-loved diner in Park City for decades.
