Reviews Summary

Vallozzi's Pittsburgh is praised for its elegant ambiance and attentive service, making it a popular choice for special occasions and romantic dinners. Diners rave about homemade pastas like the bolognese and the light, fluffy tiramisu. However, some reviews mention issues with dish seasoning, particularly saltiness, and one diner found the veal dishes overpriced and not meeting expectations.

"Vallozzi’s was the perfect place to host our post-elopement dinner. The ambiance is beautiful, with private spaces that made our celebration feel extra special. The menu had great vegetarian options, and the wine list was extensive. A special thank-you to the chef for creating a custom tiramisu cake—it was absolutely delicious. Our server, David (Dave), was incredibly attentive, patient, and went above and beyond to make our evening memorable. We’re so grateful for the exceptional experience!"

Alison Caddy

"My wife and I just celebrated our small wedding at Vallozzis with our nearest and dearest. We couldn’t have picked a better place for our special day. Service was excellent and attentive, the food was delicious and the cocktails were stellar. Can’t wait to return sometime soon. Stop in you won’t be disappointed"

Jeremy Madia

"We just finished one of the most awesome dinners I've ever had. My husband had the bolognese and I had pasta vodka. We also had tiramisu. All of it was spectacular. The tiramisu is probably the lightest and fluffiest I've ever had. And the pasta vodka with the calibrian was spicy, warm and like a bowl of comfort.

We rolled in a little toasty because we've been working a booth at an event at the convention center. And they treated us no differently than anybody else and our service was perfection. (Thank you, Stephanie Y!!!!)"

The Ultimate Guide to Cheese in Pittsburgh

The cheese menu at Vallozzi’s offers plenty of favorites like burrata and buffalo, flown to Pittsburgh from Italy. The restaurant imports true buffalo mozzarella and smoked buffalo from Campania Italy. The smoked mozzarella is smoked gently over hay, which provides a more pleasing flavor than most American counterparts, which sometimes use artificial smoke. Another must-try cheese is the Bettelmatt, which is a limited production cheese (only about 100 vats per year), from a single pasture in Piedmont.
