Reviews Summary

Andina offers an upscale Peruvian dining experience with a warm, bustling atmosphere and exceptional service. Diners praise the flavorful and beautifully presented dishes, especially the cocktails and gluten-free options. While generally highly rated, some guests have experienced longer wait times for main courses and found certain dishes to be underwhelming.

"Wow, our dinner was incredible! This was our first time at Andina and we will definitely be back. The decor, dishes, plating, atmosphere were all wonderful and of course the food was to die for!
Also, I cannot believe how reasonably priced they are. The two of us decided to kind of go all out, so we had two starters, two entrees, 3 desserts, a glass of wine and a soft drink… that all came out to a total of $156 ! I sat there making sure that everything was put on our bill because I fully intended on paying more than that just from budgeting for tonight.
Definitely a top restaurant for us!"

Beccah Lynn

"Super good food! Great service and atmosphere. We had the trout, pork ribs and duck breast. All very unique and memorable. Perfect spot for a date night!"

Dillon Rivera

"I visited Andina for the first time, located in the Pearl District, as part of a birthday celebration with a group. The staff was extremely helpful in coordinating the event, and the atmosphere was beautiful with live music enhancing the experience. Street parking is available, but I’d recommend making a reservation in advance.

While the food was decent, I was hoping for more from a Peruvian restaurant. We ordered a variety of dishes, but overall, I found the flavors to be a bit underwhelming."

One restaurant that appears on just about everybody's best-of Portland list is Andina. With the tagline, "A Taste of Peru in the Pearl," Andina has taken traditional South American cuisine to the level of fine art. Located in the heart of Portland's Pearl District, the neighborhood is comprised of boutique shops, art galleries and old industrial building converted into high-end lofts. Andina has a formal dining room and a more casual bar featuring live, Latin-influnced music every night of the week.

Those Annoying People with Food Allergies: A Guide

However, while we do have places like Andina that are both safe and delicious, plenty of others aren’t. You’re better off picking a place and calling ahead to make sure they are amenable to and forewarned about your particular allergies.

Downtown Portland’s 20 best restaurants to try right now

The Pearl District’s multi-story Peruvian destination lost a little heat off its fastball a decade or so ago — and picked up some South American competition in downtown’s Lechon (113 S.W. Naito Pkwy.) — but it’s still the best place in town to come for bright ceviches, colorful causas, meaty mains and sweet-spicy cocktails like the signature Sacsayhuamán. 21 Must-Try Restaurants in Portland

They serve up imaginative, high-end Andean fusion (how’s that for a mouthful). This spot received quite the hype a few years ago when it was just hitting the restaurant scene, but the press has subsided, making it easier to get reservations and providing a more mellow dining atmosphere. The food is colorful and diverse, pulling from several regions from the area, including the Pacific coast and the high terrain of Lima.

Desserts From Around the World in Portland

After almost two decades as a Portland institution, Andina, in the Pearl District, recently underwent some big changes. In early 2021, the Peruvian-food mecca hired a new executive chef, opened a street-food-focused sister restaurant and reoriented their menu around seasonal Andean crops. But even as it ushers in the new, Andina’s food remains deeply rooted in tradition.
