Reviews Summary

Luke's Lobster Portland Pier is celebrated for its quintessential Maine lobster rolls and fresh seafood, complemented by a fantastic waterfront view and exceptional service. While many praise the quality and generous portions, some reviewers note that it can get extremely busy, leading to long lines. The atmosphere is consistently described as great, making it a highly recommended spot for seafood lovers.

"Unbelievable service, great scenery and amazing food. The greeters sat us promptly and the waitress had our food out in no time at all! The lobster meat was so soft and moist.. we got the blueberry pie for dessert, thanks to the feed from our waitress, and it was delicious. The crust was so flaky and the berries were so sweet. The clam chowder was very good as well. We will be back again!"

Jere Donohue

"Get there early because they will be lined out the door early! We left around 1pm and the line was all the way out in the parking lot. This place is right on the water and has great views! We even had an otter poke its head up a few times. The cocktails were made perfectly! The clam chowder and seafood flight were delicious! The flight was a perfect way to try the shrimp, crab and lobster although obviously the lobster was our favorite. Highly recommend this place! Great service!"

Mrs. Haney

"This place is famous for a reason. Sitting right at the end of the pier, the views are great. We didn't have to wait at all for a table. We got the regular sized lobster roll and a seafood roll trio (lobster, crab, shrimp). They were all good, the rolls were great. The atmosphere is fun and the staff were all friendly."

In the heart of the Old Port is Portland’s Working Waterfront where Amy and Dan walked along the docks to glimpse fishermen heading in and out of Casco Bay. Luke’s Lobster is right on Portland Pier and serves up local seafood and 360 degree views of the working waterfront all year long. The couple felt like they were being treated to lunch and a show as they watched boats peacefully drift in and out, seagulls dancing atop Portland’s skyline, and seals bobbing out of the crystal clear waters of Casco Bay.

My go-to spot in NYC to satisfy a lobster roll craving was always Luke’s Lobster!. While the chain started in Manhattan, the owner, Luke Holden, is a Cape Elizabeth native and open this first full-service restaurant in 2019. I still order the Seafood Roll Flight every time (it’s the best way to try a little bit of everything: lobster, crab, and shrimp).
