My go-to spot in NYC to satisfy a lobster roll craving was always Luke’s Lobster!. Earlier in the day, while walking along the waterfront, we stumbled upon Luke’s Lobster, a classic Maine lobster shack – although we’d hardly call it a shack. We headed there for a late afternoon snack. Located right on the water’s edge, the second story had an incredible view of the harbor.

It’s probably the most popular lobster roll spot in Portland and it’s also situated right on the water. We didn’t end up coming here because we’ve had Luke’s in NYC (it is indeed damn good) and wanted to try something new. If you’ve never had Luke’s before, I’d highly recommend coming here.

It’s a corporate huge company who didnt even have a spot in maine til a few years ago - they started in NYC. It’s a below average lobster roll IMO, they just have a ton of money and a NYC marketing team.

Another closing that nobody saw coming, in fall 2019, the immensely popular Lolita closed its doors. So that left a new spot for L on this list, and it seems like a good place to put Luke’s Lobster.
