The Scotch Lodge, a kind of speakeasy style bar that serves great food. I went here on a Saturday night and had an amazing meal that included Arancini, whipped ricotta, prosciutto and a spaghetti made with Sichuan oil and seaweed and had a great umami. #TheScotchLodge #PortlandOregon #GreatFood #Travel

Reviews Summary

Scotch Lodge garners significant praise for its exceptional whiskey selection and inventive Pacific Northwest-inspired small plates, particularly the pasta dishes. Guests rave about the intimate, speakeasy-like atmosphere and the skilled, attentive service. While most reviews are glowing, some patrons note the importance of securing reservations due to limited seating.

"If I could give this place 100 stars I would, I think it’s genuinely the most delicious meal I’ve had in a long time. Started with the whipped ricotta and arancini - both equally incredible. So rich and flavorful but also light enough that you can enjoy the rest of the meal. The bread it comes with is excellent as well.

The beet salad was great but the papardalle was incredible. Definitely recommend adding the candied duck, it was a great addition. The seaweed butter sauce is hardy and delicious, need a bowl of that for every meal.

This might be my new favorite restaurant in Portland. Can’t recommend it enough, go try!!"

"Drove into the city to visit this spot I saw had a received a James Beard award. Wow! It did not disappoint!! In all honesty, I thought they only served drinks and maybe a few small bites. I was mistaken! Cocktails were amazing, but so was the food!! Loved the ricotta and the tagliatelle. All staff were super attentive and they ensured we truly enjoyed our cocktails and plates. To top it off, my husband left his sunglasses at the restaurant and we were headed to the airport. They mailed the glasses to us. Fantastic customer service! Looking forward to returning on our next trip to Oregon!"

"Really fun whiskey bar - highly recommend sitting at the chefs counter.

We already had eaten, but wished we had saved some room. It was such a treat to be so close to the action at the counter. We were highly intrigued by a slushy topped oyster plater we saw ordered a few times. Everything they were preparing looked so delicious.

We had the cocktail special for two and then I got their love and fury cocktail while my boyfriend tried a bourbon.

The staff was very knowledgeable and friendly. It almost felt like drinks and a show with how efficient the action in the kitchen was.

Really fun spot of a date night or grabbing drinks with a friend. Dark but cozy space, that’s perfect for a rainy day escape."
