Reviews Summary
Xiao Ye offers a unique 'first-generation American' dining experience with creative fusion dishes and exceptional service. While many praise the innovative flavors and welcoming atmosphere, some find the portions small for the price and certain dishes to be overly spicy.
"Really incredible meal at Xiao Ye. First Generation American is the perfect description of this type of food. It reminded me of meals from childhood from multiple restaurants all rolled into one. There were Thai dishes, French dishes, and Indian dishes across the courses and it all worked wonderfully.
The fresh pasta course and Napa cabbage salad were some stand outs, but ever dish was don perfectly. Cocktail program is also strong here. We were a party of 5 so we got to try them all. A must repeat dinner!"

"The food here is very good.
It's a fusion of European cooking with Asian flavors, but overall everything was relatively simple and just delicious.
They have a good wine selection.
The service here is really exceptional, some of the best service I've had in a while. The staff is so on point it really elevates the experience.
It's certainly not cheap, but for the quality of food and wine that you get, its reasonable compared to other places that are on par.
This place is fancy, but better suited for groups or families than other places that are more uptight."

"Go here and order everything on the menu! Went here for dinner with some friends and let the chef choose our selection, she did not disappoint! Everything was amazing!!! Drinks and service were also top notch. We’re already planning our next visit here. Also SUPER accommodating to allergies which we really appreciated."

Before Louis Lin and Jolyn Chen opened this “first-generation American” restaurant, I could envision their eclectic approach to a menu of things they loved, including — but in no way limited to — dishes inspired by their Los Angeles upbringing and Taiwanese heritage. I figured the noodles would be good, given Lin’s time running Felix in Santa Monica, and that the service would be generous, as it was at Rose’s Luxury in Washington D.C., where the childhood friends worked together and fell in love. But I didn’t know the pair would be so adept at making miniatures.
