Reviews Summary

Gracie's offers a refined fine dining experience with many guests praising the exceptional quality and presentation of dishes like gnocchi and duck. The service is frequently highlighted as attentive and knowledgeable, contributing to a special occasion atmosphere. However, some diners found certain courses and desserts to be less impressive, and there were noted issues with service execution and reservation clarity.

"I got married at Gracie’s in November and it was the coziest most decadent time. I would do it the exact same way 1,000 more times if I could.

I had an intimate wedding under 30 people and Gracie’s delivered every tiny detail I wanted and MORE.

Courtney and Cassandra were both gems to work with through the process and were communicative, friendly, and easy to get along with! They felt like friends and saw my exact vision.

I loved that we were all able to sit at the same table, that they coordinated with my other vendors and set up the most gorgeous ceremony backdrop

The ceremony, cocktail hour and dinner all took place in their downstairs private dining space and the wine room was available for us to use as well.

Our dinner was delicious and our guests raved about the food, custom drinks, cocktail hour bites, etc! My husband and I both had the gnocchi and the duck and were in heaven.

Wedding large or small, Gracie’s does it best and I would highly recommend for any occasion."

"What an awesome evening! 5 courses in the cellar was outstanding. Started with cocktails, then had some great recommendations on wine pairings. Food was fantastic, and the staff was amazing about dietary restrictions and a few last min changes and substitutions. I can’t express how amazing Caroline was. She had every answer to all my questions. And I asked a lot. We enjoyed our last course and a nightcap at the bar upstairs and it was the perfect ending to an all-around spectacular night."

Rachel Buchanan

"Gracie's is an restaurant that I would have rated higher if they didn't classify themselves as fine dining. The staff themselves are very friendly, but it is noticeable that they are not trained properly. Some examples during our dinner: one of the waitstaff spilled water and our reserved table had to be switched as it noticeably soaked through the booth seat, wait staff started taking empty plates away while someone in our party was still eating, a waitress took away someone's wine glass that still had wine in it, and wait staff poured sparkling water into someone's still water glass. Upon realizing the mistake, they just accepted the answer that it was okay and did not immediately dispose of the half-flat sparkling water and replace the glass.

We also had issues with the complicated reservation process (see pic 1) and the lack of Saturday's complimentary valet as stated on their OpenTable.

Food-wise, we found that some dishes such as the gnocchi were top quality, while others missed the mark in seasoning and execution (ex: the pork belly with the scallop dish is extremely dry and difficult to eat, rigatoni lacked salt and acid, banana ice cream [pic 9] arrived almost fully melted on the plate).

I cannot recommend Gracie's to those with fine dining experience as it will disappoint. However, if you are new to it and want to go for a first time experience or to impress a date? This may be a good place to start."

The Best Places to Eat in Providence, Rhode Island, According to an Award-winning Chef and Local Expert

This award-winning restaurant is set with intimate round tables, white tablecloths, and warm lighting, the perfect ambiance for what turned out to be a parade of beautifully composed dishes, accompanied by a curated selection of wines with each course. A five or seven course tasting menu showcases chef Matthew Varga’s skill with seasonal local ingredients and creative presentation, and dishes can also be ordered a la carte. We feasted on Hudson Valley foie gras, Crescent Farms duck, Point Judith sea scallops with fresh corn polenta, russet potato gnocchi, and more, finishing with a dessert that was as delicious as it was picturesque.

Fancy multi-course dinner spots are few and far between in Providence, but if you’re looking for a reason to throw down lots of cash for some stunning dishes, Gracie’s is the place to do it. It’s the kind of restaurant where a dish of Point Judith sea scallops is followed by a string of ingredients that leave a lot to the imagination (i.e., peas, leeks, bacon marmalade, carrot-ginger sauce). Gracie’s is also smack dab in the middle of the theater district, making it a great start to a slightly less expensive Broadway-esque dinner-and-a-show type of evening.
