The event will feature food from local favorites Knead Doughnuts, Diego’s East Side, and JA Patty, a bar hosted by Inside Voices serving Rejects beer (Middletown, RI) specialty cocktails featuring Mad River Distillers spirits (Vermont), mocktails, and non-alcoholic beverages from Topo Chico. Entry includes a drink ticket that can be redeemed for a complimentary small drink, provided by participating beverage sponsors, or a discount on full-sized beverages.

Using local milk and eggs, fresh yeast and real vanilla bean, Knead Doughnuts is dedicated to providing Providence with quality doughnuts. From the traditional cake doughnuts to dessert-inspired flavors to fall doughnuts like cider and maple glazed, the selection at Knead Doughnuts makes it tough to choose just one. JWU alum Wetherly Hundley ’13 has been the production manager of Knead Doughnuts since its opening in 2016.

That said, you won’t go wrong beginning a day at Knead Doughnuts in the downtown business district. The spot is classic when it comes to design (it’s in a former bank building) and styles (jelly doughnuts, fritters) but utterly modern when it comes to flavors and techniques. The brown butter-pecan and pistachio flavors are both musts, and there are lots of vegan and gluten-free options.

I was so sad when they closed the location that was walkable for us, but they still have other locations on the West Side, East Side, and East Greenwich. Are you craving donuts, but don’t know where to go in Providence?. Then, you should head down to the city’s financial district to Knead Doughnuts. It is one of the local’s favorite cafes, which serves gourmet-flavored donuts that go best with their coffee and tea.

If you are a Rhode Islander reading this, then 50% of you are saying, “Yes!. Knead is the best”, and the other 50% are screaming, “What?!?. PVDonuts is the best.” Knead has this perfectly traditional fluffy doughnut and PVD is a brioche style doughnut.

Adam Lastrina and Todd Mackey, co-founders of Knead Doughnuts, never questioned that Providence would be supportive of the donut cause. “Every great city has a legendary donut shop. We felt that our city lacked that,” said Lastrina.

They make donuts in house and their selection is delectable. The bakery also offers croissants, muffins, and flourless doughnuts. They have Nitro or regular iced coffee, hot coffee, and other beverages with an indoor seating area.
