Cool espresso bar Kohi Coffee Co. sits on Commercial Street overlooking the waterfront, so you can start your day with an expertly prepared brew and an energizing view of the beach. Though the menu features Maine-roasted Tandem Coffee, Kohi is no washashore (that is, someone not born on Cape Cod). Owned by the team behind Spindler’s restaurant at the nearby Waterford Inn, Kohi Coffee Co. has also expanded with two excellent Boston cafes.

Everything looked amazing and it was so hard to choose, but we opted for the Carrot Ball, which is basically a carrot cake shaped like those Snowballs you loved as a kid and topped with cream cheese frosting and shredded coconut. O.M.G. It was soooo good!.

This is more of a to-go coffee spot, though there are a couple of counter seats with a perfect view of the bay.

The company partners with Tandem Coffee Roasters of Maine to offer a unique selection of Fair Trade and single-origin java. It has a curated guest roaster program too, so the coffee options continuously rotate.

For a proper buzz, Kohi Coffee Company is the town’s minimalist café with cold brew on tap, while two Marc Jacobs alums opened the Captain's Daughters, a charming tea shop inside a double-bay house serving delightful craft teas—like a Golden Girls Blend, a spicy Ayurvedic chai with ginger, turmeric, and coconut.

The shot I had at the Cape Cod coffee shop this year was balanced and sweet, but delightfully bright as well. Exiting through the back door of Kohi is mandated by Covid customer protocol, but it’d be kind of weird not to do it in normal times when the back door basically leads you straight out onto the beach.

This charming spot offers options for dine-in, takeaway, and delivery, catering to all your coffee needs. When you step into Kohi Coffee Company, you’ll be greeted by the inviting aroma of freshly brewed coffee. The cozy atmosphere makes it the perfect spot to relax and enjoy your favorite cup of joe.

Kohi features a very popular cold-brew coffee on tap; but the real joy is in watching individual cups brewed in front of you, a focused process ensuring absolute freshness. They don’t have flavors: good coffee doesn’t need them.

However, if I needed some battery acid, I would have stopped at Kohi Coffee Company. Reviews say this spot has smooth coffee and the best beach views. Who wouldn’t want to sip on their latte while taking in the ocean air?.
