Reviews Summary

Firehouse Brewing Company is praised for its unique historic atmosphere and its status as South Dakota's first brewpub. Diners often enjoy the craft beers and elevated pub fare, with specific mentions of the Gorgonzola ale soup and burgers. However, some visitors find the restaurant to be excessively loud, and a few have expressed disappointment with the food quality and value for money, especially during busy periods.

"Beautiful day, excellent brewery lunch! Service was spot on, even as we entered behind a big party. Our waitress (I think her name is Fawn) was the best!

Plenty of seating indoors and outdoors. Nice open air shaded section for warmer days too.

We shared the nachos - excellent pulled pork, perfect size to share and enjoyed some refreshing summer beers. The Tipsy Flamingo is amazing!"

Gina Larson

"Great atmosphere, specially with their outdoor section being mostly covered. The entire building is amazing and a wonderful use of old buildings downtown. I tastes a couple of their beer selection and enjoyed them for the most part. No standouts, but I liked them."

Mehrdad Mahmoudi

"A very nice place to eat. The staff was welcoming and the food was decent. I had a Ruben and my wife had the farmer's pie. We both were happy with our meals. The prices are reflective of a downtown establishment in a touristy place. There are a lot of choices for both beer and food for almost any eater. The restaurant was clean and efficient. The firefighter patches were a nice touch. It is walking distance from a lot of downtown hotels which makes it a nice place to eat in Rapid City."

Located in the heart of downtown Rapid City, we had to wait to find a seat at the bar. That’s because the brewery is a restaurant, and we came around lunch time. We had the Bell tower lager (Kasie) and Hippie hole IPL (Lana), but were most excited to try the Downtowner (crispy French fries topped with chopped pork, brown gravy, cheese curds and bacon. Unfortunately, I was disappointed with both the beer and food. The place is obviously successful given the crowds (and a building next door devoted to merchandise) so perhaps I need another visit to understand why.
