The longtime Japanese favorite Cultured Pearl (19 Wilmington Ave.; 302/227-8493) has completed its expansion not only of the restaurant itself, which resembles a miniature garden, but of the menu and staff, adding Thai dishes (fiery beef salad, lemon grass-shrimp soup, shrimp pad thai) and modern-eclectic dishes from new chef Eric McGrath, late of Philadelphia's Saloon, such as grilled black sea bass stuffed with langoustines, olives, tomatoes and spinach and wrapped in prosciutto; filet topped with artichoke-mushroom ragout; and baby coho salmon napoleon. (Off-season, the non-Asian dishes outsell the sushi, but for the summer crunch, there are five sushi chefs on duty.)

Many of the nicer places do not start dinner service until 5:00 or 5:30. Blue Moon, on Baltimore Ave in Rehoboth, for example does not start seating for dinner until 5:30. I'm afraid this may be a bit problematic for you.
